Hey, everyone! Okay, so with Halloween around the corner, I've been recruited to make drinks for a neighbor's party. :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 Beyond the usual cans and bottles, does anyone have easy to make drink recipes for parties? Ideally, they'd be in a pitcher, like different sangrias and such, so that I can be making 'em for the crowd, not individual drinks. He's expecting anywhere from 30 friends on up.

Something on the cooler side (no mulled wine, please). ETA: By "cooler," I mean on the cold side. Not necessarily on the "hip" side.

Thanks!!!!!

P.S. I'm also looking for quirky ideas like:

Gummy bears in vodka
Soak gummy bears in vodka for up to one week.
Gummy bears will plump up and become gross looking.
Remove them from liquor, serve on chilled platter with serving spoon.
Warn guests that bears are stiiiiiicky but deeeeeelicious!!!!

Not sure how many drinks your pitchers will hold, but electric lemenade was always a hit.

1 to 1 1/2 oz vodka
1 oz blue curacao
sweet and sour mix

This was the recipe for a 10 to 12 oz tall glass, so you can adjust it for a pitcher.

( If he makes punch, get some of those very inexpensive dolls, the kind without hair. Wash them well, diassemble them and float them in the punchbowl.)

You can easily make pitchers of Margaritas. Just get a bottle of Margarita mixer and the pitcher directions are on the bottle.

I like to make them homemade though with tequila, key lime juice, water, and sugar. I kind of mix it all to taste though, so can't give the measurements.

I've got a kick butt and extremely easy recipe for Mojitos!!

1 bunch fresh mint, cleaned
1 cup sugar
4 lemons, juiced
4 limes, juiced
Ice cubes
1 (750 ml bottle) light rum
1 liter club soda

In a large pitcher, muddle the mint sprigs with sugar and lemon and lime juices until well combined. Add ice, rum and club soda and stir together. Pour into glasses. You can either leave the mint in as garnish or strain it out.

This is actually a recipe that DH got from Bermuda's Ye Olde **** and Feather pub on Front Street for Rum Swizzle. (I'm thinking that the auto sensor may go to work on that name! It is the alternate name for rooster.) We actually liked their recipe better than the one at the Swizzle Inn!

RUM SWIZZLE

1 Quart Pineapple Juice
1 Quart Orange Juice
1 Quart Dark Rum
Lemon Juice to Flavor (Add a bit at a time till you like the taste)
Grenadine for color (Again, add a bit to taste)
Dash of Angostura Bitters

I saw a recipe for sparkling lemon or limeade on the food network.

1 can frozen lemon/limeade concetrate
1 bottle of champagne

It looked really good!

LOL! I was just at a party of sorts recently where someone bought a "bucket of margaritas". Apparently they sell all the ingredients right in the bucket, you just purchase the bucket, add the tequlia and freeze! :teeth: I guess it just depends on how fancy your party is ... you might not want a bucket of anything. LOL!

That mojita recipe sounds great!
