anyone have luck with dying clothes

Our hospital now has a dress code my dreaded dept colors are black pants wine/cranberry tops. Hate scrub tops want to dye some tops. Any luck do they have to be white first and how did they look. What did you use. Thanks

I am unclear on what you are saying? Are you wanting to dye scrub tops? They can't be dyed because they are mostly synthetic. Synthetic materials will not absorb dyes well, if at all, because they don't really absorb liquids well.

If you want to dye clothes, it's better if they have a high natural fiber content, like 60% or more cotton or wool.

The Rit dyes at Walmart are really low quality and will give you low quality results, even on cotton & wool. It would be cheaper to just buy cheap new tops in the right colors.

There are some cute scrub tops that dont look like scrubs out there if you really look! I have dyed cotton with RIT dye before. You can find plenty of youtube videos demonstrating!

I would think JCPenney (maybe the catalog) would have tops in the colors you are looking for.
