My experiment with the 2.5 gallon zip bags ended well, I could fit a bunch of clothes in them but after 30 hours when I removed them there were some wrinkles, I was thinking of getting one of those wrinkle release sprays. (ie:downey) Do they work? They won't stain your clothes will they? thanks Ann

Ive used Downey Wrinkle Releaser on my past few trips. Works like a charm!!! The only problem is when I do use it at home(very rarely) the smell makes me feel like Im on vacation. ;)

One of my professors at school said that is all he and his wife use now. They dont even own an iron anymore!
Thanks for the reminder, I am going to buy some tomorrow to take with us!

Hey Ann~
I've used the Downy wrinkle spray on some of Jacqui's summer shirts and it's worked well... you have to spray it on (lightly) and then kind of pull and tug the shirt this way and then that way and the wrinkles come out. Not quite the same as ironed, but still not all wrinkled.. We're going to bring some with us too!

I guess I will do that.,.. you would not beleive the amount of clothes I could squeeze into those 2.5 gallon bags, it is GREAT,.. but I am worried i will have a wrinkled mess.

Ann,
Last year we used the Downy spray and also brought a small handheld steamer. We are doing that again as well. They work great together, and it eliminates the need for an iron!! I press all the dress shirts before we leave, and will pack them in plastic (the large bags from the dry cleaners). You can find the small steamers all over now.......Target, Walmart, etc.

Only 6 more days and we will be sailing birthday girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:wave2: bye, bye Las Vegas!

Ann - we use it and I agree with CamColt - the scent does tend to remind you of being on vacation - since that's the only time we use it.

Yes, I still iron.

I am a costume designer, and have worked hard to have clothes looking good on stage. I do use Febreeze and the new wrinkle release sprays now, but they are new products in the world. I have to chuckle to think about what I used to use. Most costumes do not "iron" well, and the nasty actors all have the nassty habbit of moving about and (gasp!) SWEATING IN MY CREATIONS.. What we used to use quite effectively was a spray bottle filled with VODKA. It worked like a charm. Hang all the clothes on the rack in a breezeway and spray away. Of course, being a university theatre, we always had to disguise what we were using, or it would have all bean sipped away, so our spray bottle always had a huge Mr. Yuk sticker and the kids were told it was this nasty chemical combo we had discovered....and no one was the wiser.

Does the Wrinkle release spray work on 50yr olds? Certainly could do with it here!Nat:Pinkbounc

CamColt,

I used wrinkle releaser this morning for the 1st time since our cruise (one month ago right now I was at Castaway Cay!) and was immediately transported to The Wonder!

We got Tritons on our first night on board and the wrinkle releaser worked great on my jacket and pants I needed for dinner that night.

but found it.. so one thing is packed, the wrinkle releaser,, :)
