anyone have experience with Sentinel?

Last November we adopted a 50lb. 3 year old hound from a local rescue. At his first vet visit the doctor gave him Heartguard we used this until last month when I was told their usual medication was Sentinel.

After his first dose he became sick and it is time for his next pill. I am nervous that he will get sick again.

Does anyone have any experience good or bad. I would love opinions.

I have read that you are supposed to give it with food.

Thank you we did. In fact the first time he ate the meat and left the medicine. Maybe next time I will try giving it with food after he eats. I am willing to give it another try, but I am concerned because allergies get worse after multiple exposures.

I would not give him another dose till you tell the vet about him getting sick with the other dose.

Thank you . I also plan on finding a day when we will be home and the vet is open in case he does get sick. This is one of the problems with pet rescues often they do not have any history medical or behavior issues.
