My 10 year old neice, Ellie, has been very sick with a rare bacterial infection. She had a mastoidectomy 2 months ago, and then developed an atypical mycobacterial infection in the surgical site.
She is hopefully coming home from the hospital tomorrow, but will probably be on IV antibiotics for a long time.

Her surgeon is looking at hyperbaric oxygen treatments, to help promote the healing of the wound site.
Is anyone familiar with this? Know anyone who's done it? I'm looking specifically for some description of what it feels like, while inside the chamber. I've found some web sites that describe it, but I'd love to hear directly from someone who's familiar with it!
Ellie is high functioning autistic, and my sister is concerned about how she'll react to being in the chamber - the treatment sessions are 90 minutes long. She wants to be able to describe the effects to Ellie, ahead of time, to lessen her anxiety.
