My dr has put me on this, and I am taking it before bed, and I am waking up in the middle of the night with horrid side effects, such as nasuea and headaches. I dare not take it during the day, as I dont want the symptoms to hit while at work...

So will it go away as my system gets used to it...it has only been a few days..and does anyone have good results with it?

My Dh takes it has been since around Oct. I believe he takes 20mg but I could be wrong he takes it in the am when he gets up but hasn't had any side effects from it. It could be the time frame when you take it -
at night he has trouble sleeping - did prior to the meds to so he is taking lunesta 3mg for that.

I've any number of clients who have good success with Lexapro. It has many benefits and is generally weight neutral.

Give your doc a call and run the symtoms you are having by her/him. Many folks do not have any side effects at all, and some do experience an initial (3-4 days) of mild queasiness.

Sorry. Meant to add that you should titrate upwards with Lexapro. Your initial dose should be at the lowest end, and then over time, once your body has adjusted the dosage should be increased to a therapeutic range.

If that is not the case (if you've started with a higher dosage) that may be the problem, or contributing to the problem. Again, give the doc a call and check.

The Dr gave me the sample packs of it...enough for a month...told me if it did not cause issues, call in for a script...not sure right now what the dosage is..

I will admit the nausea is not as bad as it was the first night..but the headaches, which I am prone to have been every day..wondering if it is even related...

I have had Lexapro and I think it's a fantastic drug. That being said, it took me about two weeks to get used to it and then BAM - it was like a switch went off and I felt WONDERFUL.

I'd give it another week of taking it at the same time every day and if it's not better, ask your doctor to switch you to another drug. Not everybody tolerates them the same way. I was put on cimbalta (I think that's the drug - I could be wrong) and I had horrible side effects for two weeks - pain, nausea, headaches, heart palpatations and had to be taken off of that.

Hope you figure this out soon! I'd give it another week and see how you're feeling.

Yes and it has helped me alot. I was a bit nauseous at 1st but it eventually went away.

I've been on it for about 9 months or so. I didn't have any side effects. It is a low enough dose to make me stop yelling at people but not to completely take away my personality like so many other mood medications do.

Thats pretty much what I am looking for...some people say I seem more cheery this past week..Laughing and smiling more..and I have not had the urge to yell as much...so maybe it helps!

Yes I had the nausea for a couple weeks and it went away. Definately a good one to be on. I had to switch my time to take it though because it kept me up at night. Good Luck.
