We need to get tickets for my DS (DH and I are premier pass holders already), and through ticketsatwork.com I can get him a 5-day hopper for $172 (plus tax). That seems to be the best price we've seen; anyone ever use them before? Any comments or concerns?

I would be careful about the plus tax. A common tactic is for ticket resellers to show a low price and then tax and fee it to make up the difference. Though that place let's your work subsidize the price for you.

They do list the price, it's $183.18 total. I was curious if anyone's actually bought through them; they only had a couple of reviews, and they were mixed.

I'm really puzzled about WHY there would be tax on your tickets. There is no tax on amusement park tickets in California!

We recently used them for hopper tickets for a trip this December. So far, it's fine, and yes they were the cheapest. But we haven't used them yet, so I can't comment about that.

I think they do it kind of like how phone and cable companies add on all sorts of stuff to increase profit without it be an actual legit charge.

Here's what it said on their website:
The following information explains what taxes and fees apply when you purchase your tickets, hotel reservation and other travel arrangements with us. We hope that you find this explanation helpful. For ticket orders and travel reservations, the term "taxes" means that we collect an amount from you equal to the amount that we expect our travel suppliers to bill us in order to pay any applicable taxes, governmental fees and any other charges remitted to the government. So when you see “taxes” on the website, this means a “tax recovery charge”, as defined by the following; In order to provide one of the most comprehensive listings of offers with the most competitive prices, our “pre-paid” model consists of securing the travel products as inventory from our travel suppliers and then providing this wide array of travel products to you, our customers. We charge your credit card the full amount of the transaction at the time of the reservation, including any taxes and fees. When we are billed for the inventory from our travel suppliers, we are billed with the applicable taxes, governmental fees and any other charges remitted to the government. Therefore, what we are collecting from you is a "tax recovery charge" that is equal to the amount we expect our travel suppliers to bill us so they can pay those taxes, governmental fees and other charges to the government. What does all this mean to you? Just keep in mind that when you see the words "taxes" on our site, it may mean "tax recovery charge” and the percentage will vary based on multiple variables including different local city, state, county, resort and other governmental tax amounts.

Another example: When we purchase tickets and other travel from our suppliers, often times we have to pay sales tax on the purchase and the sales tax is charged to you, the ultimate consumer. Therefore, what we're collecting from you is a tax recovery charge that is equal to the amount we expect our travel suppliers to charge us. For example, when you go to Walt Disney World's website, the ticket prices are listed prior to charging the 6.4% to 6.65% sales tax (percentage ranges based on different counties of the 4 theme parks) that will be added to all ticket transactions, including when we purchase tickets from Walt Disney World for sale through our website to our customers. When you purchase a hotel reservation in Lake Buena Vista (where Walt Disney World is located), Orlando or Tampa, FL, the combined taxes for hotel reservations will range between 10% and 14%. In most cases, this will be billed separately from room rates with resort fees and other applicable taxes and fees as a separate line item. When we present the breakdown to our customers, we make our best efforts to list the items separately for you in a similar manner.

If anyone has any suggestions for getting a hopper at a better price, I'm all ears!

I've used them for WDW, DLR, and Six Flags and never had a problem with them.

For Disneyland tickets, their "tax recovery charge" is absolute baloney, because THERE IS NO SALES TAX on Disneyland tickets. They aren't paying their suppliers any tax on those tickets, because their suppliers aren't paying any tax to the state.

The info they give about sales tax on WDW tickets is also incorrect. The tax on WDW tickets is 6.5% regardless of where you buy them: it's 6.5% even if you buy the tickets in states other than Florida.

You will get your best rate through them because like I said it's subsidized by your employer. It's an employee perk or benefit. The only way you might get a better rate is if you are in the military.

They really used a long wordy explanation to validate themselves. All it needed to say if they want to be truly legitimate is the end user will pay the taxes. The only way it would be different is if you are in another country that charges an "import" tax on foreign tickets. But in the US double taxation is illegal.

I have used them for Universal Hollywood and Knott"s Berry Farm.

Great deals and no issues either time.

My experience with them was this: I went to purchase the 4 day hoppers because the price posted is really cheap!! Well once they were in the cart and I was prepared to order them, they included taxes and some other fees (cant remember what they called them) but by the time they added them in they were more expensive than buying them from Getawaytoday. I chose to use GAT and saved about $7.00. So, be aware of the fees that they tend to tack on at checkout!!
