Anyone have an Ikea sofa bed?

I have an ancient futon and cheap pine frame in my TV room (3rd bedroom) that I would like to replace with a sofa bed. I am thinking about getting a Beddinge or a Lycksele sofa bed. It would mainly be used as a couch but also by my DD for sleepovers and for house guests. I would also use it occasionally when my DH keeps me awake with his snoring. I was thinking about paying the extra $50 for the Murbo mattress over the Lovas.

Do you have one? Is it comfortable?

I bought the Lycksele chair bed for my office. Although I personally haven't slept on it I have had several friends use it and they said it was comfortable. I don't know if I would want to sleep on it for long periods of time but I did buy the nicer mattress for it just in case I had house guests for a longer period of time.

Oh and I don't know if the Beddinge one has arms but it might be more comfortable - the Lycksele doesn't have arms which is okay for a chair but if it was bigger I would want someplace to rest my elbow if I was using it as a couch. Right now my chair doesn't get sat in a whole a lot.

We bought one 2 years ago for our spare room. I think it is the Beddinge Lovas. I will sit on it and watch tv. I have also slept on it when DH is sick (I refuse to get a cold!) It is very firm but comfy. I have a cranky back and I have never been uncomfortable on it. My friends have also slept on it and they said that it was firm but they slept well.

We have the Lycksele Murbo sofa bed combination. I still think the "mattress" is extremely hard and uncomfortable. So, I bought a memory foam topper from costco ("full bed" size). It cost me about $120. WELL worth it! My mother in law was visiting over the summer for a month, so I wanted her to be comfy. She slept like a baby on the bed with the topper. When she was ready to go home, I rolled up the topper and put it back in its box, until next time.

For one or two nights, I think most people would find it pretty comfortable. However, I sleep on a Tempurpedic bed and extremely firm beds aggravate my back/neck and lead to migraines. I also get sore hips. I lay down on the sofa occasionally, and my hips get sore. I do like it for sitting up and reading, though. Lots of good support and the back is at a nice high level (reaches up just past my shoulders). I use a Poang footstool with the sofa and it's the perfect height.

I would suggest buying the cheapest mattress Ikea offers, and then splurging on a memory foam topper for it when guests will be using it long term.

My favorite thing about this is how easy it is to set up as a bed. Also, I love the removable (WASHABLE) cover. Worth its weight in gold!
