what do you give for gifts? Is there a good online store to order through? My niece 14 & nephew 11 are huge into the ice--but we don't have anywhere to buy anything here in the south....much less do I have a CLUE what to buy.
Any ideas?

My dd11 is a figure skater and I shop from a place called Rainbo Sports, they are located in Chicago and have stores in Wisconsin also. we drive up to Chicago and get her skates from them they are a very good company. the web site is RainboSports.com they have everything for skaters, dolls, t-shirts, figurines, clocks, artwork, jewelry, books, videos, dresses, check it out!! hope this helps! :wizard:

I asked a similar question a few weeks ago although I do have many shops to choose from being that I am in New England I was looking for some reputable hockey online stores.

And for my daughter I bought her a few hockey shirts on Ebay. I even got her a Pluto one. I also picked her up some hockey pants and shoulder pads at Play it Again Sports. She'll get one jersey for her b'day since I already gave her brand new skates in September.

We are having an ice skating party.

Oh I also got her for Xmas a cute cinderalla barbie type doll on ice skates. I got it at Amazon I believe.

Could you find out who is your nephew's favorite NHL team is and his favorite player? If so, you could get him that teams jersey with his favorite player's name on the back. Also, I'm pretty sure it's the framing company Deck the Halls. They have got these sports locker room pictures with four of five jerseys hanging in cubbies. All but one has names of players and the last one you could put your name on the jersey.

My DS 6 plays (I coach) and I play in a men's league as well. My 2 favorite places to shop for gear are www.peranis.com and www.hockeygiant.com. I think these were mentioned in the link that Aneille posted. They have great service and probably the best prices around. Some peole will tell you hockey monkey is a good site too, - they're ok...not a big fan of the "handling fees" that seem to equalize the lower advertised prices. Buying hockey gear is tough it's kind of a personal thing. I think the suggestion to get a jersey or some other item that represents a favorite team was a good idea.
