Yesderday the mayor sent all the city workers home at 2:00.

Today, a co-worker called me and said the mayor was closing the city building, altogether, and we didn't need to show up! This is my first time to use the dancing bananna!;)

This is the first time, in the 16 years, I've been there that we haven't had to go in, at all!

I am a teacher and we have a SNOW DAY today!!!!

My office manager called me at 6:00. The office is closed for now. They will reevaluate at 10:00. I can almost guarantee you that we will be closed for the day as it is still sleeting here.

My husband's company closed for the day. Apparently, the manufactoring floor was really slow so they decided not to open the building at all, with the snow and all. I thought it sounded a little crazy, since he works in Marketing....but I'm sure he'll be on his laptop working half the day anyway.

Our company is "always open". I work from home, but if you haven't made the set up, you have to take leave if you don't want to drive in.

:sad2:

Nope. We are supposed to report to work even though the worst weather is coming in a couple of hours. DH can work from home, so I guess I'll burn a vacation day.

We figured we would have to show up to work because work was still open in June during the worst flooding this area has ever seen! They were evacutating people using helicopters because the town was so flooded but the road to work was 'open' all while employees were supposed to be working!

My question is do they really expect any work to be done today if people do show up?

Only a few Local schools were delayed here... All our Ice turned to RAIN and Like downpours... Buckets at a time... but we are surrounded by water and hardly ever get what others get.. even the town litterly 2 minutes in from us will have snow and we'll have rain..

There we alot of delays and cancelations from an hour North of here and further...

Is still freezing rain here (SE PA) and since I drive for my work, I get to make the decision to stay home and guess what? I'm staying home!!! Snow day!! :dance3:

I am going to attempt to go in eventhough it's freezing rain. I work for an OB/GYN and I can't imagine any pregnant ladies would chance slipping on the ice for an app't today.

I also work for a school and we got called last night. No school for the entire county which borders on SE MI and Ohio. I'm trying to decide what to do today, because the roads are too bad to go out. I should shovel.....nah I'll stay on the Dis!

Well, if I would have had to work today, the boss would have called me off.
We have a level 3 snow emergency here so I am sure the Animal clinic is closed.

I've got a snow day! :cool1: I had a 4 hour drive home last night from work :headache: and I called my boss and told her I would not be coming in today. I said if she wanted me there, she would have to come pick me up. :rotfl: She said no, and then said she's taking the day off too. No word if the whole office is closed. I'm just not making that drive again.

My work has the ability to work from home. That is what I did yesterday and today.

We got messy ice storm, so everyone should be in.

Since many of my coworkers live in NYC and can take the subway to work (and its a public accounting firm) everyone will be at work today.

Me? I'm still in bed as it's sleeting still and I'll take my time getting there today. :woohoo:

My husband's boss told him to stay home. The boss was still going in.

What does DH do....goes to work !!!:confused3

my company is closed but I am working at home. Today was my first day back from vacation - plus my employees have to do some work from home due to the nature of the job (regulatory reporting to the FDA)

Not sure yet.... the spa is still open as of right now although I can't imagine many people will be showing up for their appointments :confused3 . I will see how it is over the next hour (we are in the middle of an ice storm) and make the decision. I only work from 10:00 til 3:30 today and live very close so I'm also afraid my boss will ask me to work the full day because I'm sure many employees won't be in :headache:

We are heavy under ICE .

DW is 2 hours delayed as are we.

We never close as we are a 24hr service. I'm shocked with the 2 hr delay. We just got new vans last year so I think they don't want them banged up yet.At 10:00 I'll do so parts and some Computer work to extend the delay a bit.
