I have a small one made by Oster that I bought years ago. It is a great little machine. But it only holds smaller items. I cooked a 7 lb chicken in it and that is about as large as you can go.

I was thinking of getting one of those Ronco Showtime rotisseries. Does anyone have one? What do you think of it? I would love something that I can do larger items in.

Also, which model? They have several.

Thanks

Actually I do have one. It is great. I just do not use it that often.

I have the Showtime Compact - you're right, it is too small. Fine for the two of us, but wish I had the larger one (Platinum Edition?) when doing dinner for guests.

After awhile the spit assembly gets heat stained (which isn't too attractive), but I've learned to live with it.

Can't beat it for chicken and rib roasts!

I have the Showtime Platinum and I love it! The first one I bought was the big George Forman and it was a major pain to deal with. It did not cook at the temperature that it was set for. The result was undercooked meats unless you used a meat thermometer or one of those pop up ones for turkeys. Took forever! This thing is a gem! Truly set it and forget it ;) I can cook a 6 pound boston butt roast in <3 hours. Well worth the money I paid for it. I cook the huge roaster chicken in <2 hours, making it great for those days that you find you haven't started dinner when it's time to pick up the kids. Story of my life :)
