Yes.....very cute, but after all this good advice you're still going to do it? :confused3

Yep...I'm up for it ;) I think allot can depend on how the pup is raised. I also meet her parents (both on site) and they were great, so, I do think she comes from good parents. I love my long hair chi's but want something different - hopefully I won't regret it!

I hope you don't regret it either, and yes a lot of it is how they are raised, but most is just their personality. My brother has had many dogs and is very good with them, and they had to give theirs away.

Good luck!

Thanks! Are you talking about my avatar? That's Kacie, she's an Australian Shepard mix. Mom was a purebred Aussi and dad was sneaky neighbor dog!!

Oh what a sweetie. :lovestruc We just got our baby Pomm last year and she was alittle smaller than yours. She's now 4.8 pounds and is a bundle of joy. Yes, she can be alittle yappy but with some training you can control that. She is very good with small kids but tends to try and stay away from them if she can especially if they are too aggressive. Potty training was difficult for her because she had an infection but once we got that cleared up she has done very well. Might want to try using the Pee-Pee pads, they were a life saver for training her. Good luck with your baby and keep us updated with pics as she grows. :lovestruc

Yes, some breeds do have certain tendancies, but it's all about how they are raised. We just lost our pom who was 12 this past year :sad1:. She was just fine with children unless they really hurt her - like pulled her fur or her tail too hard. She was great with my 3 year old nephew - he was terrified of all dogs except her. She'd just sit there and let him pet her head and then he'd follow HER around the house and giggle. She was so sweet and wanted nothing more than to cuddle.

Yes, they are loud, yappy little dogs.. I'll warn you of that. There are training tips you can use but it has to be when they are VERY YOUNG. We got her from a family who let her do whatever she want until she was 3 when we adopted her as their daughter had developed an allergy. They kept her in the (very large) kitchen and let her yap all day long, and do her business wherever she wanted and then just wiped it up. As a result, she was IMPOSSIBLE to house train. She went outside like she was supposed to, but if left alone she would consistantly go on the carpet. She also, like someone else said, was VERY blonde and not all that intelligent..

But like I said, she was a great little dog and I miss her very much.. you just have to be VERY strict and VERY consistent with her training from day one, and he PATIENT as she will most likely be a slow learner.

I have a friend with a pom. The dog is a friendly, sweet little thing. But she chose hers from a pom mom that was known for having offspring with good temperment. My friend also has older children. I don't know anything about her training habits.

Thanks everyone! So far so good, she is so smart and lovable :lovestruc. I have started to the 'bell' method with potty training and its 50/50 right now, she has pee accidents but no poo so far . She sleeps most of the night only waking around 2-3 am to go out to potty (as bad as having a newborn :rotfl:). Haha...as I was typing this she rang the bell to go potty, took her out and she peed
