Just found one on clearance at Macys.......reg $269 for $79.99 and an additional 20% off made it $67 and change. I had wanted one a while ago, but the price was too much. Can't wait to make pasta tonight for dinner. Anyone have pros or cons., or hints?
Thanks

I have the pasta making attachment for my Kitchenaid. I love it, and my Italian DH loves fresh pasta. The only thing I ever have trouble with, is seperating the spag. strands to let them dry a bit...they always tend to stick together. Maybe my receipe.

I love mine. I've had it for years. I use an all egg recipe. It's 1 egg to aprox 1 cup of flour (special measuring cup came with maker). I can usually have fresh pasta just under an hour from when I start. I sometimes add black pepper and make black pepper linguine. Very tasty.

Have fun with your new 'toy'.

Mmmmmmmm.....made linguine tonight with fresh tomato sauce (nothing like Jersey tomatoes). Came out really good, except I had to make 2 batches for the 4 of us (with some for lunch tomorrow) and the pot wasn't big enough to cook it in, so water was a little too starchy. Will use bigger pot with more water next time.
Very good though, and am looking forward to making different kinds.

I have one too. I love it but I haven't used it since we moved into our new house (Uh, that was a year ago).

Don't play with it to much, it will get tough.

The DOUGH that is! What did you think I meant?
I have a machine, but use it for poly clay. I have allways made my noodles /pasta like Gr.Pa taught me, flour with an egg in the middle and knee it well. Rest, cut and dry a little, cook to taste.

Have fun playing with it....
the Machine!

I bought one at a tag sale for $1.00 that I intended to use for polymer clay. I watch Carol Duvall and they do alot with clay.
Of course now that I have my pasta/clay maker Carol's show has been cancelled.
And this machine didn't come with directions so I guess I can't make pasta either. Oh well, I will save it for my next tag sale. Hope I can get my $1.00 back. Peggie

Peggie - Have you checked online with your pasta maker manufacturer? sometimes they have catalogs online that are the same as the ones that come with the product when you buy it.

Can it be used to roll out cookie dough - like the kind for cut-out cookies?

Thanks much

I asked for a little metal pasta maker for Christmas and I still have not used it yet. What type of machine do you have? Maybe someone has one like it and can send you a copy of the instructions.
