Merry Christmas to you, and please don't worry. I'm just fine considering I can't breathe or eat. The important thing is that you have a nice holiday, thousands of miles away from your ailing mother. I've sent along my last ten dollars in this card, which I hope you'll spend on my grandchildren. God knows their mother never buys them anything nice. They look so thin in their pictures, poor babies.

Thank you so much for the birthday flowers, dear boy. I put them in the freezer so they'll stay fresh for my grave. Which reminds me - we buried Grandma last week. I know she died years ago, but I got a yearning for a good funeral so Aunt Bertha and I dug her up and had the services all over again. I would have invited you, but I know that woman you live with would never let you come. I bet she's never even watched that videotape of my hemorrhoid surgery, has she?

Well son, it's time for me to crawl off to bed now. I lost my cane beating off the muggers last week, but don't you worry about me. I'm also getting used to the cold since they turned off my heat and am grateful because the frost on my bed numbs the constant pain. Now don't you even think about sending anymore money because I know you need it for those expensive family vacations you take every year.

Give my love to my darling grandbabies and my regards to whatever-her-name is...the one with the black roots in her hair who stole you screaming from my bosom..

Yeah, Pretty much! Poor DH and his brothers and sister get guilted into something every day. How and what she thinks about me is her personal problem, whether good or bad! She lives in Mass I live in Maryland so who cares

I won't bore all you with the details, but I called my mom from my bedroom in the middle of dinner Christmas Eve, so she could talk me out of telling the ole @#$&! off.

Next year, we will not be having Christmas Eve.

I'm expecting that letter in a few years.

Getting married in 2 weeks down in Florida (Disney honeymoon of course) and the letter he got yesterday began like this-

"Dear *****

If you do get married I hope you still have the freedom to visit your family in the Southwest and also phone them....."


Oh, yeah this was after the message she left on the answering machine last week begging him not to marry me because marriage is for people who love each other and he'll be miserable if he goes through with it....

not to mention the numerous times she has commented on how she and his sisters don't "approve" of the money we spend every year on a Disney vacation!

I would lol BUT, my MIL offered us a private viewing of her collection of video tapes ... just incase we weren't exactly sure we "knew" what we were doing since we had not gotten pregnant yet! This was only the 2nd time I had met the lady ... at the THANKSGIVING dinner table in front of his whole family!!!!!
