Anyone have a loved one who is a military K9 handler overseas?

DH and I are involved in Search and Rescue as volunteers with our German Shepherds and would like to send a care package to a unit with K9s deployed in a war zone. I have searched on the sites that provide this information, and have come up with a couple, but, if there is a DISer who knows someone who fits this bill, I'd love to hear from THEM!

As of right now I don't have any info but my Nephew is a SP and is about to deploy once he gets to where he is going I can see if I can get some contact info from him. If not my DH is also deploying in a few months and I am sure I can get info from him

My SIL and her DH are over there as contractors training dogs. They're both former cops/search and rescue and decided almost 2 years ago to go over and help train. I'd be happy to forward you her email. I'm sure she'd love the contact. (now I just have to find it!)

I went to my favorite soldier support website www.AnySoldier.com to the Where To Send page (http://www.anysoldier.com/WhereToSend) and did a search for "K9" and got eight results and 13 results for "K-9" (with the hyphen).

So, over 20 leads for you to pursue. Hope this helps. Good luck!
