I'm having supper club at my house next week and I need good Salsa recipe...I've never made it before and want it to taste GREAT!!! Thanks!

This recipe you just add until you like the taste... you can tailor it to your preferences.

Start with two cans of Del Monte mexican recipe stewed tomatoes. Put them in the blender. Add fresh Cilantro leaves (I usually add about 2" loose above the level of the tomatoes) and garlic (this is just your preference - you can use fresh or out of the jar). Blend on lower speeds - the lower the speed the chunkier it will be. You can also add fresh diced onions if you want more texture. Blend them or just chop them to the size you want and mix in.

This tastes like Tostitos restaurant style medium salsa if you make it right. I think the cilantro and garlic vary so much in strength, it's difficult to set an amount to add - just get a bowl of chips out and taste until you get the right amount of flavor.

Good luck!

I do mine to taste so.......

Seed and chop fresh tomatos (this time of the year I'd look for an organic grocer or something that has GOOD ripe tomatos not the mealy winter tomatos lots of stores stock).
Chop onion, mince garlic, chop a small bit of jalepeno based on your tastes....
Chop fresh cilantro, salt and pepper and some lime juice.

Based on what you like you can also add...bell peppers....a touch of vinegar....hot sauce (tabasco, etc), chipolte peppers, etc.

Just make sure to let it sit for about an hour at room temp so the flavors can blend. :)
