We're going to Boston this summer and the Cambridge Residence Inn where we'd like to stay is $289/night! :guilty:

Does anyone have a code of any kind for Residence Inns or for Marriott?

Thanks!
Terri

Ouch! That rate hurts!!!

How important is it to you to stay at that particular Residence Inn? We stayed at a Residence Inn a few summers ago that is just outside Boston for about $119 a night. If I can remember the location I'll post it. I'm just having a senior moment, and the name escapes me just now. Anyway, I remember the continental breakfast was great, and they had fix-your-own waffles too! This Residence Inn was about a 20 min. drive to Boston, or somewhere thereabouts. We drove into Boston almost everyday, and even spent a day in Connecticut at Mystic seaport.

Sorry, I just don't know any codes for Marriott right now, but keep checking all the travel sites. You might want to give the hotel a call directly and ask if there are any special rates for the time you will be there.

Wish I could be of more help...

Just found the location --- it's Boston Westborough.

I've stayed in that particular Residence Inn. It is convenient.

Did you check the Marriott website for AAA, AARP, etc rates? I was looking a few days ago for Boston for June and if it's any consolation, that particular Marriott did not show up with any kind of discounts for that time. I could see it at a regular rate (though I thought it was only $189, but am not certain). Any time I entered a type of discount, I saw practically every Marriott but that one.

Boston is incredibly expensive for lodging. And the parking will kill you as well. $30 - $35 to park at your hotel is not uncommon.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, we DO want to stay in Boston or Cambridge. We have three kids, so a kitchen is also on our wish list--to cut down on meal costs. This is a reunion for my husband and his former MIT graduate school roomies. (We met and were married in Boston, but now live on the West Coast.) We want to be able to get around using the T, since we won't have a car, (so parking fees aren't a problem) and being close to MIT would be fun for the guys.

I am going to try calling the hotel directly.

Thanks again!
Terri

Call and ask for the entertainment club rate. If it is a better deal then buy the Entertainment book. I got a $35.00 rate at the Residence Inn in Nashville using my entertainment card.
