I have family coming from overseas, and we would like to take a vacation to a ski resort...does anyone here has some places that they can recommend for skiing? Share your experience..what you like or not like about the ski vacation in the US that you have taken?

I'd like to hear too! East Coast ideas especially for us! We lived in Colorado for 10 years. Breckenridge and Copper were our favorites there! Copper Mountain resort was amazing!!. Our youngest daughter though didn't learn to ski in Colorado and would like to now learn. We now live in NC.

Don't know about not breaking the budget, imo skiing anywhere is pretty expensive but we LOVE Keystone, CO.

Liberty Mountain in Fairfield, Pa. Very Cool, very fun, super friendly staff, nice hotel, several food/drink venues, laid back, state of the art snowmaking equipment. Snow Tubing, too. I'm biased. I work there. But it's more like playing than work. Check out the website, facebook page, and blog. Skiliberty.com

We've always found the Park City Utah resorts to be decently priced. There are several resorts there within easy driving distance to one another.

Crested Butte has good values and you can fly in with direct flights from Denver, and Dallas on American.

Copper Mountain, Breckenridge and Winter Park are also second tier, compared to Vail, Aspen and Telluride.

Utah: The Greatest Snow on Earth. While I live here, I am no expert on skiing. I have only been a couple of times (Brighton and Park City), but I can appreciate good powder. Hope these links help, and if you have any questions, I am sure I can find someone to answer them. Oh, and be aware that Deer Valley (and Alta?) doesn't allow snowboarding.

Also, I have seen offers at Costco for discounted tickets at some of the resorts. Good luck on your search.

we go to sugar mtn, nc every year to ski with the kids. They love it. Next year though we are planning a trip out west to colorado.. Im sure its going to be a pretty penny for that trip esp the plane fare.. we normally drive to NC
