Anyone had eye laser surgery?

I love it! I had it done six years ago and then again 3 years ago. My vision was very bad the first time. The second time I was at 20/40. It is the greatest thing. I have had no problems at all.

I had it 10 years ago, was 20/900, now Im 20/20, and he fixed it so i would enver need reading glasses, I love it. One draw back is when I drive at night on a dark road, cant see well at all.

I never could wear contacts and people getting close (let alone touching) my eyes really freaked me out. But I wanted this sooooo bad. Research is very important. The more experienced your doctor is, the more it will cost. You do NOT want to go the discount way on this!!!! I had it done 1.5 years ago. Cost me almost $4600 for one of the top surgeons in the country. Beyond perfect!!!!!

Two weeks ago, my daughter (this was one of her 18th birthday presents) had it done. She had to go without her contacts for two weeks (xmas break). She loves it too.:thumbsup2

I know many people that have had it done. A friend of ours was one of the dr's that pioneered the surgery and was on the team to get the FDA approval for the procedure.

The only problems I know of from the probably 100 people I know that have had it done is sensitivity to sunlight (wear sunglasses outside), night time road glare and one friend that was allergic to the drops you use after the surgery and her face swelled up.

I haven't had it done because I am a big chicken.

I want to get it done but cant part w/ the $..of course, if it was for my kids Id do it in a second;)

I suppose I should look into it sooner than later, as every year that passes is more $$$ for contacs & glasses:rolleyes:

This is on my "things to do" list. I would love to be able to take my kids swimming without looking like a dork in glasses or worrying about losing a contact. I have been in glasses since I was nine and contacts since fourteen. The glare issue is huge for me - I have problems driving at night, especially when the roads are wet. Did anyone here have worse glare problems after the surgery than before? I could probably live with the same level of glare but if it got worse I probably wouldn't be able drive after dark. That can slow a girl down!

Anybody in MA/NH area had the procedure done and can recommend a doctor? I've been wearing contacts for over 20 years and in the last year they've been bothering me. The doctor said my eyes are not getting enough oxygen. I've tried different lenses with no improvement so I am seriously considering the procedure.

Thanks

Sue

This laser center was recommended by my optomitrist. It is going to cost $2800 an eye (that is Canadian funds) Apparently this company has been around for a long time and they are all over North America.

Thanks everyone for your info.
