Anyone got experience with Drooling?

DS is two and a half and still drools. I think all his teeth are in, so I wonder if I should check with a doctor or is this common? Tell me what you think.

My DS will be 3 in 5 weeks. He seems to drool all the time. He thinks I'm pretty! I think he like the "feel"of all the slobber. Or just grossing me out.

I'm sure your son is fine. He likes you too!LOL

On his next visit just ask the Dr if you are still concerned.

As for your son, he could be getting his 2 year molars. The boys tended to chew more and slobber more around that time due to the incoming molars. Hopefully he'll stop before he gets married.

I have a drooling problem whenever Mel Gibson is on too!

I think he has all the teeth he will have because the doc said she saw the two years 6 months ago!

My son drooled until he was about 4yrs old. I mean excessive drooling: change bibs or shirts sometimes 5 times per day.

Does your child exhibit any developmental delays? Feeding problems?

What turned out to be "nothing to worry about" has since turned into numerous problems that should have been addressed when he was an infant or toddler. He needs intensive therapies now and the largest progression happens when they are younger.

Not saying that you have anything to worry about --2 yrs is still rather young. But I would keep an eye on it for another year to see if it stops.

No delays, and being a behaviorist, I look very carefully for Autism and other childhood problems. I usually change his shirt twice a day because it is wet. I may just schedule him for a well exam and ask the doc what to do next to be sure, because if he needs early intervention I want it now!

I think a key sign to a problem would be if there are feeding/swallowing issues. If your child has diffficulty coordinating his chew/swallow then he may have some oral motor issues than can be addressed with oral motor therapy. But if he does not exhibit any signs of oral motor problems then he may just still be "baby drooling" or teething drooling.

My son had a poor suck/swallow reflex and he gags/vomits ALOT so I think if yours had an oral motor problem you would know.

My son was a drooler for awhile too. At the time I worried about it because he always had a wet shirt. I read then that kids who drool often had allergies. In my son's case, this was true. He's allergic to just about every pollen, dust, leaf out there and also to peanuts and eggs.

I'm 33 and I still drool when I'm sleeping (gross, I know).

Seriously, my daughter is 28 months and her molars are still not all in so she is still drooling when she is teething.
