I'm gutted :sad2:

I only got these boots a month ago and they are the best boots i have ever brought and at £75 they weren't exactly cheap.

They are leather but like a brushed leather in that when you run your hand on them they change light and dark(sorry if that doesn't make sense)
Anyway today whilst making my DD lunch before i went out i dropped butter on them and now they are ruined.
I have tried sponging them off but there is just a circle the size of a 2p right on the front, a big butter stain.
Anyone got any ideas on how to remove it before i purchase another pair.

Have you tried using a suede brush? The stain might not be so obvious if you can raise up the textured surface.

That's a shame - the only other thing I can suggest is asking at the shoe shop or a shoe repairer (I don't like saying cobblers LOL!) if they can suggest a product.

Still, pale boots like that will eventually get stained with wear. But after 1 month I too would be heartbroken.

I went to a demonstration about Tudor costume, and they said that to remove grease from velvet the tudors used Fuller's earth (but you could try cat litter). I'm afraid adding water to the stain may have made removal impossible:sad2:

Thanks everyone, but i think i have well and truly killed them now. I sponged a tad too much and now not only do i have a butter stain but i have taken the colour off too so that's the end of that.

My mum is going to take them to the shoe place and see if they can dye them black. I didn't even think of that. I have ordered another pair in the brown and i will not be making lunch in them again. Lesson learned!

DS(17) keeps wanting the pale Timberlands and I keep saying "No" because I know how filthy they'll get and how imposible to clean - even protectors only keep the worst at bay!
