Anyone got a Dec 06 rental yet?

I rented a intermediate (with 2 car class upgrade coupon) from National for $254 for 8 days, December 16- 24, 2006.

Last year I paid $154 for intermediate for 7 days Dec. 17-24, 2005. We ended up with a Equinox from Emerald Isle.

I can live with $254, but I sure would like it if it went down some more.

So far the least expensive I can find is $538 for a three week rental Dec 16-Jan 6/07 through National. This is for a mid size SUV (it is cheaper then the economy). And this is with flying into TPA.
Flying into MCO for the same dates the least expensive I can find so far is for an economy car is $667 (with a CAA discount, with Hertz).

I don't care is we fly into TPA or MCO. I will go with whereever we find the least expensive rental since we are planning on spending the first part of our holiday in Orlando and the rest south of Tampa.

last month (Dec 17-31) I had a 15 day National EA rental for $229 so I am hoping to be able to find a better rate then $538.
