Anyone going to US very soon? Help required!

Hello everyone

I am from the UK and we have booked to come to Florida in 2014, yay only 76 weeks to go!! :-S

This is a long story, so bear with me!

My husband and i came to Florida in 2008 for our honeymoon (and have been longing to come back since!). Whilst there, we bought a cat in the hat soft toy for if we were lucky to have a child. In 2010 our son was born and life was complete! As soon as he was old enough we gave him the cat in the hat toy which he became VERY fond of. He would put the label to his lips and it would soothe him.

Anyway, for his first birthday he got a matching thing one and thing two. Thing one was his new absolute favourite! He would come everywhere with us and we have lost count of the number of times he has been through the washing machine.

Thing 2 is EXACTLY the same (apart from the obvious) but he has never been touched, clearly he just isn't as good as thing 1!!

Anyway, two years down the line and thing is LOST!! Some where between home and nursery thing got misplaced and we have one very upset toddler.

At the moment he is coping ok, thing is "on holiday" and he is filling the void with his old pal cat in the hat! We are unable to buy the soft toys here, and I don't think he'll happily wait until 2014!

I know this is an extremely long shot, but is there Anyone from UK who would be willing to "pick us up" a new thing 1 from US??

I understand the lack of trust people have in the general public and know that this is a big ask, but happy to discuss this if there is anyone willing to help out a little boy who has lost his thing!!

Sorry if this seems pathetic and needy, am going to find an email address for US and see how far I can get with that.

We are going next week, and my mum is coming from the UK to visit, but she wouldn't be returning until July. Might be a bit long to wait for a little guy. Is there nothing on ebay?

we are not going until august , but just want to say i really understand your problem , my son is so attached to his fave soft toy !! we lost it once on the way to portugal and had a awful time, thankfully SOMEBODY HAD HANDED HIM IN AND HE WAS WAITING AT THE ARRIVALS GATE WHEN WE LANDED BACK IN THE UK !!
