We are taking our girls in July - this is only the second time we have been and last time I only took our eldest daughter so this will be my younger daughters first time:cutie:

The last one we saw was 2009 and it was princess:Princess Wishes - at that stage we had no plans on going to WDW... Last year I took the girls to Disney Live on Stage which was great and I had already decided we were going to WDW (just didn't know when exactly) so it felt more special - watching the girls eyes light up when the princesses came out :lovestruc

This time watching the characters I know we will be at WDW meeting them all in 2012!

Love a little bit of Disney I can enjoy here in Melbourne:woohoo:

Anyone else going?

I loved Disney on Ice as a child I think I saw two or three of them. Unfortunately they can't/don't come to Perth any more since they took out the entertainment centre where the shows used to go. Have fun and I hope you and your girls have a magical experience :)

:sad2: such a shame they don't come to Perth, we flew to Adelaide in 2009 to see Princess wishes was so worth it but i guess this year we will just have to make do with the real thing:lmao:

I'm taking DD and DNeice at the end of the holidays, Sydney Saturday 6pm show. Our work is a sponsor and they had discounted staff tickets for that show only. Normally it's all shows you can choose from.

I would LOVE to take me kiddies but we're saving up for Disneyland this christmas instead. If we weren't going to Disneyland though, I would have gone, so maybe next year but I doubt I'd be able to convince my son to go, he'll be 12. They grow up too fast :(

We saw the princess one too. My dd wasn't even 3 at that stage so it probably would be better for her now. The boys were young enough to enjoy it, especially the shaved ice in the Mickey head cups. :)

I can't believe they don't show it in Perth:confused3. Did they show Disney Live on Stage there? That was a great show - the Snow White. Aurora and Belle stories in brief with an appearance from Mickey thrown in for good measure:lovestruc

DS 10 has now seen the add on Disney channel and is devastated that i wont fly him to Adelaide to see Cars on ice. His reasoning is we flew there for Princess wishes why cant we go see this one:rotfl:
I told him it is because we weren't going to America that year he is not happy and i am feeling like a bad mother :sad2:
I did get $50 return flights from Perth when we went to see Princess wishes:)

Hi everyone!

We are going this week. Does any one know how much the cups filled with shaved ice cost? Do the designs change from year to year?

Thanks!

I think they were around $14/15. cant fully remember, but the weren't more than that (at least last year :rotfl:) There have been different designs as DD and DNeice always get different ones.

I let DD have that as her souvenir, as it gets her a drink too! I pick up some treats at Woolworths before we go.

I remember going to it once as a kid and absolutely LOVED it! Have seen ads in the paper for it and would love to go but sadly won't be able to this year. No doubt those that go will have a wonderful time :)

I've only missed one since I started taking my nephew 10 years ago, and I was in Disneyland then so I don't think it counts

I'm really looking forward to it this year as my 2yo will love it. When I told Mr 4 that we were going though, he stated "But we saw it last year!". That kid needs a dose of the magic! :confused3

It's actually really funny. Little boys often turn their nose up at the idea of ice skating -- thinking it's too girly. They change their tune when Goofy and Donald and all their other favorites take the ice! Uu-huzzaaahaha, then they're hooked!

Well we went yesterday and it was fantastic:goodvibes! The cars were amazing and the big Tinkerbell finale was gorgeous:lovestruc

At the end people in the first section got to go up and see Mickey up close and my dad noticed how my girls (we were up the back in the cheap seats!) were so excited just to be waving from afar he said he can only imagine what they will be like in wdw when they actually get the chance to meet them all:cloud9:

Also there was a severely disabled lady in a reclining wheelchair whose carer rolled her up to the stage at the end and the fairies started blowing her kisses - it made me a little teary to see the magic of Disney: that child within us all.

The programs were $18 each (and $2 extra if you wanted a Disney plastic bag to put them in:eek:) I bought one each for the girls who are tucked up in bed looking through them at the moment.

Really worth seeing!

We saw it yesterday, lucky enough to get front row seats, my DS particularly loved Tinkerbell (it's a crush since Disneyland I think).

Definitely worth seeing, the iceskaters are fantastic and the children (and the adults) love it :lovestruc

Does the program have next years show advertised in it? If so, could you let me know what it is? Have just been on the american disney on ice site and there is a toy story 3 show! I wonder if it will come here eventually

Nope, next year's is "Let's Celebrate!". The flyer shows Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Pinocchio, Belle, Buzz, Woody, Peter Pan, Ariel, Aladdin, Jasmine, Stitch and best of all Cruella De Ville, Malificent and Jack Skelkington! Should be good :)

As for this year, the show was good. I've seen the Lion King and Mermaid segments (or very similar ones) many times, but they are still two of my favourites. The Cars segment had very little storyline and was short, but my boys were mesmerised and the cars were really well done so we weren't disappointed. The Fairies were not good for us though. With three boys I had one asleep, one chucking a tanty and one asking if it was time to go during the Fairies segment! The little girls all around us were very excited by it all though.

We went last night, and was a little disappointed compared to previous years. I wasn't feeling too well which may of distorted by view, but even the girls were getting antsy. The boys belonging to someone next to me were really over it and squirming all over their seats by the time of the fairies which didn't help either.

The girls got a fairy Tinkerbelle mug each, $15 includes a spoon straw. They are quite pretty. And I gave in like so many mums around me and got some fairy floss, not for the floss, but for the flower hat. Walking back to the car lots of mums were wearing flower hats!!!

5ofus - I don't think it was because your boys are boys with the Fairies, even DD9 and DNeice7 weren't that enthralled with that part.
