Anyone going President's Wk?? Time to do the 7mth switch!

I'll be at SSR in a studio Feb 18-25 with DS4 and DS6 and neice. It will be our first trip home since we bought. DH is skipping this trip but we will be going back the begining of December 2006 with some friends and their children. Hope the crowds arent too bad in February.

Thanks disgirl. I was concerned about getting the ressie especially since I was doing it without a backup, but we really didn't want to go to WDW again this year (I know a lot of you are wondering how that could be!! LOL!).

I too am now waiting for airfare. Airtran is the only non-stop flight from ROC and I love non-stops in winter. ROC traditionally has very high airfare but with the addition of JetBlue and Airtran a couple years a go it got a little better. Last year I bought too early and paid too much. I'm going to be wiser this year and wait.... I think.

I love going to FL that week it really breaks up the winter and adds some sunshine to the soul. Before we started going to WDW we would go to Captiva. Had some great vacations and really want to go back sometime soon. This year money was a little tighter (big home projects) and Vero was less $$ and would have some good activities for the girls.

Here's hoping we have sunny skies in Feb. :sunny:

WOW, Pumpkinboy, I am so jealous of your airfare to MCO! I never thought about calling the airlines direct at 331 days out. However, I did monitor the JetBlue site daily until they released the February dates I wanted. Checked several times a day, in fact, which was a good thing because when the dates were finally offered, it was in the afternoon (I had checked earlier that same day.) But the one way fare each way was $259!!!! OUCH! Needless to say, I did not book a trip and, unless fares drop (which I don't expect to happen for the dates), I will not be making that trip. :- (

Congrats on snagging that great fare!

lopo I am with you. Our fare from NY is 259 each way. :scared1:
However, this is the first time my dh has some time off (other than in the summer) when my son has a school holiday and it is shortly after my dad turns 80, so I really want this trip to happen. I am checking and checking and hoping to see a change one day. I know I am probably dreaming at this point, but I am going to keep checking airfare. ;)

Good Luck everyone!! :sunny:

disgirl, you have lots of important reasons (time off, Dad's b-day, etc.) to go and celebrate. If I had a better excuse/reason (besides I want to go) to travel at that time, I would bite the bullet and book the airfare, too.

It certainly can't hurt to keep checking the prices though. You never know; perhaps the cost will drop and then you'll have even more reason to celebrate! Enjoy. :goodvibes

Believe you me; I know just how lucky I was to snag that fare! The airlines have no incentive to discount that week, since they are pretty much guaranteed to sell every seatat full price or close. So if you want to fly non-stop, you are gonna have to pay some serious cabbage.

However, you can still get there at more reasonable fares, if you are willing to make one stop. At least for now you can. I have been watching the fares for some friends who will be joining us for the weeknights at WDW in Feb, and I am still seeing fares that compare well to the inconvenient SW fare they got last year, ie connecters for less than $300 per person. They still might end up on SW, but they would prefer to fly from Boston. Now if only they'd firm up the plan, I could hook them up with a good fare...

This is exactly why I'm not booking yet...

That's 2X what we paid for RT tickets this October!!! :scared1:

Luckily here in W. MA we have the option of 3 airports-PVD,BOS and BDL(Hartford)...I am wondering though, that mabe, perhaps when Southwest releases those dates that there may be a chance that we'll make it????
