Only reason I ask.. is I have to be super super carefull what i eat, as no solution has been found to my problem..as yet. And last time I ate out i was on morphine for two days. I am soo excited about holiday but feeling very nervous about my tummy... I know what i can cook myself, and I have no problem eating bland boring food to get me through. But what is there... breakfest will be easy... but other meals I am worried about. just a cheese baguette or something.. i will need really. where do you advice we eat.. thats got plain food and cheaper...??

also i would have loved to do a charecter meal.. but again dont want to do a "proper" meal as my health issues and children are young etc. But can you do a charecter breakfest? We are staying at santa fe, late november? what you think? Any ideas? Does that garage sell baguettes and cheese..plain crisps etc... that i could take into park... :confused3

such a shame, 2 years ago i would have been looking forward to the restaurants! can you believe i am a fit healthy 23 year old!! haha

we are not there for the food... but need to know where i CAN eat? so i am not walking in and out of restaurants with hungry children, any help would be great..to put my mind at ease.... do you suggest i e-mail someone there and ask???

thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I was you I would email DLRP (I'm really sorry, but I don't have an address- Maybe another DISer can help here??) and explain the problem. They will more than likely be able to help you on this matter..... I know they've responded to other DISers with questions surrounding food 'problems' in the past.

ok thank you.... hehe... I see some of you on every thread... little little disney faries! fab. haha, if anyone has an e-mail address that would be good.. be great help? thank you

Food is a big part of our holidays so you are right to be concerned.

The garage and shop at the station as well as some of the counter service places sell baguettes ready made up including cheese but it is usually emental cheese.
Most crisps (known as chips) in France are plain so you should be fine there.

You could go to the big supermarket nearby and buy some things or secure a few rolls from braekfast.

You can do a character breakfast at cafe Mickey but obviously you pay for it when you've already paid for breakfast

It might be worth going to counter service places as you can just get a drink and eat your own things but get a meal for everone else

There was a thread recently with an Email address to contact DLp about health issues re food

I think it was tennisfan who posted up an email address if thats any help??

They had lovely mashed potatoe at Inventions but its a bit expensive to go there just for mash

There is some info in the FAQ sticky at the top of the page.

There is also a thread on pg 2 by Tetly - 'result from DLP' or something like that which has the Email address

I actually did DLP in October 2006 after only being discharged from hospital with Gallstones 3 days previously after a 8 day admission to hospital (this was the one and only time DH hadn't arranged insurance:mad: ).
I was like you - only 34 too young for gallstones but with a strong family history of gallstone - when they removed my gallbladder i had 108 gallstones:scared1: .

I found the food very difficult and mainly lived on food we took with us. I was quite lucky as we stayed at DCR so could take soya milk and other non-diary products - till my gall bladder was removed I was a vegan who could eat meat!! I suggest you take your painkillers with you - most of that trip was a blur as you can understand as I was still on regular painkillers.

The character tea party may be ok - the hot food is hash browns omelettes tomatoes and sausages. It really depends what you can and can't eat - I was on a very low fat dairy free diet.

If all else fails you could always make yourself a few cheese rolls at breakfast to eat later on - believe me you won't be the only one!!

Just a thought ~ perhaps you could do a character lunch/dinner at Cafe Mickey? Have a look at the menu on here. Lunch /dinner isn't a set price like the breakfast so there may be something on the menu you could choose. They do a plain mozzarella cheese/tomato pizza, I don't know if that would be suitable. :confused3

oh thank you, wow that is alot of gallstones. My mother has them. I as yet only have a few small ones, but my gallbladder..reacts to food and I get gastric reflux etc...plus this has made me develop bad stomach ulcers. The foods..that i feel set me off..unlike most is not so much fat.. but garlic/spicy/acid food.. my last attack was bought on by a salad... and i have 4 levels of morphine until i was on dia morphine which finally worked..knocked me out. And with two young children... is not good!!

I will be taking major pain relief... but in the event it actually kicked off... i would need morphine. I may be able to take pathadine in tablets with me. not sure. but i htae taking pain relief..as then in trun they set off stomach ulcer... ahhh.. the joys!! i e-mailed them last night asking if a few baguettes could be made up in an onion/garlic/salad free environment for me to have in park... they must get people that go with serious nut allergies etc, so hoping they will be able to help... and hopefully by next time they would have worked out what exactly is wrong with me! haha... ahhh proper drama queen me, cant do things by halves.

But after such a hard few years... I need to do this holiday for my gorgeous partner anc children who have been so worried about me! so i refuse to get ill on holiday!! haha

Hope you get a good response from DLRP. And :wizard: that you have a great holiday. :grouphug:

yeah i hope they can sort something out for you so you can enjoy your trip

I have emailed DLP regarding food issues, as my lo has sever food intolerances, and sever reflux, I also have IBS symptoms but nothing majorly serious or that I cant deal with, it can just be a little unpleasant at times.

I have found out that they do specific eals in certain restaraunts that exclude a whole host of major food allergies. I have not heard of them providing sandwiches excluding these things though. But I do expect that like in the uk you can request they do one with no dressings on.

The only other ooption maybe is perhaps make some sandwiches up at the hotel breakfast with the meats and rolls they provide. You can do a cafe mickey breakfast as well.

You don't need the car. It's litterally 1 stop on the metro within the Val D'europe Shopping centre. We went there and stocked up on our last trip and the metro was very easy to use.

oh really... didnt realise this... so it's near the metro station? mm might be an idea then, how long does it take, may be an option..pop off quickly maybe in afternoon... at lease put my mind at ease!!

i went to DLRP in 2007 (nov) 2 weeks before i was booked in to have my gall bladder out! i found the little shop in the station very helpful for stocking up on foods and also i brought some cereal bars with me in case i couldnt get anyhting else! i have to say getting my gall bladder removed was the best thing i ever did! only had about 30 - 35 stones but it has made such a difference to me, only get acid reflux onces or twice a month now and have been paind free since. i was only 27 when i had it removed but it has made such a differnce! hope you get your problmes sorted soon :goodvibes
