Im off to work..ugh! Have you decided where your going to stay at yet? Its such a hard decision because there are so many great places to stay.

That is one of the joys of being only 45 minutes from the port. No hotels required. :cool1:

Do you mean the kids are allowed to dine by themselves if we go to Palo?

Dive right in....funny.

You asked if the water is cold....well it depends. I live in Florida and any water below 72 degress is cold. But I know in CA when I dive there it is 58 degrees.

The ocean water in December will probably be in the mid 70's. I know CC will be to cold for my daughter to snorkle in, even with her wet suit.

Hi Jim;

I am glad you mentioned the temperature, I was thinking about the dolphin swim but that sounds like cold water...I'll have to think on that.

Your kids are a little older than mine is, he'll be 10 when we go.

You mentioned a double dip cruise? Do you mind telling me what that is? I'm new to all of this, sorry...

Great to meetcha,

Linda

If you enjoy food, you must go to Palos. It is a special treat where you will be taken care of, without the kids!

Remember, this is DCL so you have several options. Ours just like to eat in the restaurant by themselves with the servers. The servers are use to it. Or the kids can eat with the program if you feel more comfortable. Or they can eat from the stations on the deck. Or they can go to Topsiders by themselves. Or they can order room service. Or depending on your seating time and your Palos time you can go sit with the kids at dinner. Get them started and then leave for Palos.

Palos has a great Filet and chocolate souflle.

Dolpin swims are always in colder water, in the mid 70s. Dolphins do not handle warm water well, but you really are not in the water with the dolphins that long. I have never heard of anyone complaining about the water temp while doing a dolphin swim because they are so excited.

However, snorkling is different. You are just laying in the water looking at things. Your mind has a lot of time to think about the cold water.

The Double Dip cruise was in May and it was the first cruise where DCL went to Cast away Cay twice. We started the cruise by going there and ended the cruise there. What made it fun was all the people we knew because of DIS.

You may have notice the big cruise meets thread with 50,000 posts. That was the double dip cruise and we are still chatting. :cool1:

Hi folks - Jim already introduced us, we wil be joining - we think. DH says yes, but since we jumped on due to special rates, we are waiting for the dreaded leave slop approval...or should that be wonderfully anticipated leave slip approval.

This will be our 4th cruise but the 1st on the Wonder, so we are excited.... :teeth: We were on a 4 night turn-around Magic, a 7 night Eastern and a special 7 night Western......

We are both Florida natives for a family with Florida roots, so we have too many trips to count to WDW....Never been to Disneyland, however....

Castaway Cay is unbelieveable and we cannot wait to go gain. Unlike Scuba's DD, I will venture into the water, but with a wetsuit......Don't panic, you do not need one, esp. if you live north of Vero Beach, but as I "hate" cold water (cold = anything less than 85 degrees) I will bring mine.

Favourite things ....

Sail-away Party - Tres cool.....
Pirate Night - you will not believe it....
Palos - yes, we will take an evening off. Unfortunately, if you opt for Palo, you will miss one of the rotational resturants on the 3 night.....
Cannot help with Nassau excursions, as we did a walk-about on our own. This trip we may just relax......(unless we find a dive trip..... :teeth:)

CC - not sure what we will book. I really enjoyed the Catamaran Snorkel the last trip????

the crew is so attentive, you will not believe it....

As this was just booked, I have not thought of the actual plans....must hurry up and get busy....

Later....

I dont know why nobody seems to be going on this cruise? We are and then going to Disney for Xmas.DISNEYWORLD 15 TIMES, DISNEYLAND ONE TIMES, DISNEY ON ICE 2 TIMES, FIRST CRUISE COMING UP! :wizard:

BY THE WAY HOW DO I DO A TRIP COUNTER LIKE EVERYONE ELSE HAS?

Swoosie34 - thanks for starting this thread. Not sure if anyone answered but I use ticker (no space) factory dot com to generate a ticker.

Also - there is a Technical Support Forum that lists assistance on tickers.....

Or, look at someone ticker you like - right click and you will see the URL and can probably go to that site.

Some tickers are free - others are subscriptions....

And if all else fails - try Google.....

Hope this helps.

Palos reservations are made. We were up at 3 am and got the time we wanted. I was surprised at how quickly they went.

Just goes to show that there are not that many seating times for Palos. It's a small restaurant that takes a long time to enjoy. :cool1:

Do we have any other returning Castaway Cay club members as we have some first timers........We were also up at 3:00 (yawn) am.....to make reservations....All good to go..... :thumbsup2

Snorkeling, Spa and (as Jim posted) PALOs...... :sunny:

now if I could just get the printer to work, I could print these important confirmations.... :badpc:

So how is everyone's planning coming along?

I hadn't heard from you, just making sure your okay, being a single mom and going to nursing school is really hard. I hope all is good...work is good for me. Im on a diet and have lost 6 lbs so far, I want to lose about 20 for the cruise, so I can get into my skinny clothes lol. Im in a 8/10, just want to get to a size 6 and I will be happy lol. pirate:
Well I got to go I work about 3 days a month at Bombay for my discount lol.

I was paying around $2800 for a room with a porthole, cat 9. Well I noticed that they had slashed the rates and since I hadn't made my finale deposit yet, I called my travel agent. She got us to a room with a verandah, cat 4 for only $2200..the prices include family of 4, taxes and insurance. I saved $600 and got a huge upgrade. So if you haven't upgraded yet..nows the time to do this before its all booked up.

For some reason the little message notification thingie has been failing me so I didn't know you had written. My life is nursing nursing and more nursing.

We had our first exam for the semester Tuesday before last and now it's dosages this week, and then another exam Tuesday after next. I am in clinicals two days a week, externship one day a week, and lecture another day. Plus I had the audacity to take a spanish class which I squeeze in whenever. My boy is in soccer and we are active in our church.

Can I just scream and pull out my hair (what there is left of it) now!?!?! :)

REALLY looking forward to this trip. I got a thing in the mail telling me I could make reservations for stuff starting 10/7 and that's coming up. I will have to make decisions soon! I got the AAA tour book for Nassau and Florida, plus some passporter thing I found online. Been reading up on everything. :thumbsup2

Plus planning my boy's 10th birthday-Pirates of the Caribbean themed-later this month. pirate:

Can't wait to meet you, thanks for the support! :goodvibes

I have had the flu for like 2 weeks now. Talk about miserable and the worse migraine. I cannot wait for my cruise and WDW trip. I have so much homework due also, but I haven't been feeling up to it. At least hopefully I get all my cold/flu symptoms out of the way.
By the way are you getting passports? I dont know if I am, I dont think we have to, but I know by the end of Dec we'd would of , but I think were good.
Well stick in there, the light at the end of the tunnel is coming soon.
Have a good day....Suzi

WE HAVE ONLY 80 DAYS LEFT FOR OUR CRUISE!!!!! :wizard:

That is misery, being sick for so long. I am so sorry. That is the only thing I haven't had yet...a big long sickness (knock on wood!) Taking vitamins like a maniac. :yay:

Worried about my dosages, I've been so stressed, haven't had a chance to complete all the homework, so you can guess what I'll be doing tonight and tomorrow afternoon! :cool1: (After my boy's soccer game, that is..)

I bit the bullet and booked a little overnighter here at the grand canyon, they have a train ride that's the polar express for the holidays, so we're doing that on Thanksgiving. That should be fun, so I get a little mini vacation before the BIG vacation, and it's just before finals.

I should need a little pick me up by then! :cheer2:

80 days...but who's counting :hourglass :rolleyes1 :p

I checked on the websites I know and I haven't found a terrific discount like you found. Where did you see the prices slashed?

Let me know when you feel better...

I'll send out a little prayer for you. :sunny:

Hope you feel better soon.

I wasn't going to worry about passports right now, we don't need those until after the end of the year. :hourglass

One more reason to go now! :dance3:

Hasta la vista, baby :joker:

ASK your travel agent...they are everywhere. I saw it online and called my travel agent. Sounds like fun...I bet the Grand Canyon thing is gonna be awesome. I went there once when we were stationed at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas...love it! Well my head is killing me..going to bed....

I checked around with SW and AAA but didn't find a huge discount. I'll try to look tomorrow.

Send you a message about Las Vegas~

Hope you feel better soon :)

Linda

We should meet up! And hey, if the boat gets norwok (or whatever that nasty bug was), they will have more nurses then they know what to do with!! :rotfl:

I have worked with peds, derm, ENT, plastics and alzheimers/dementia. My favorite is the latter of them. I get to be a piece of some of the best parts of peoples lives every day and it's like walking into the best fictional story-book on a daily basis! Best of luck no matter what you chose! Just follow your heart!
