BY THE WAY HOW DO I DO A TRIP COUNTER LIKE EVERYONE ELSE HAS?

Hi! Fear not!

I just booked this weekend, my son and I will be on the cruise. First time ever. Celebrating my graduation from Nursing school.

I am VERY excited, been wanting to do this forever.

Nice to meet you! :goodvibes

Trying to figure out what dinners to go to, what excursions to do, everything.

Are you doing just the cruise or are you going to be at WDW too?

:wave2:

Im also a nurse and congrats to you. We will be staying at Disney World for a few days afterwards.
How old is your son? My daughters will be 10 and 11 when we sail. This is my first cruise so Im very excited!!

:happytv:

This is so cool! But we're doing the DW part first and then the cruise.

What part of nursing are you? I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. :)

Started last semester clinicals today.

I am really excited about this trip though. Have you decided on excursions? I don't know what to do yet. It's our first cruise too.

Really nice to meet you! :cheer2:

I definately want to see the Hotel Atlantis and Aquarium and go shopping in the town and buy some local stuff like a dress and a wicker purse??
Are you going to do the spa? I am and I cant wait! Is your son my daughters ages? Im in the panhandle of :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: Florida? Where are you?
I have been a ER, Dialysis,Sleep Apnea and Clinical Nurse. I currently work on a Air Force Base and work for one of their clinics. My husband is in the Air Force, also.

Hi,

I just began my last semester of clinicals and it's been a rough week. They seem to need to tear you down and build you back up again. It's like nursing boot camp. Can get discouraging.

I grew up in CA and have been to Disneyland and CA Adventure many times. I moved from there 3 years ago to rural AZ to care for my ailing folks and begin nursing school. My folks have since both died. It's been a rough 3 years.

So I'm nearly done and I went to DW one time 11 years ago and I am taking my boy, and yes he is the same age as your girl! He will be 10 in October. That's great, for them to have a potential friend on board. It'll be just he and I. I am really looking forward to this, all I need to do is get thru the next 3 months. :moped: :woohoo:

I've never been on a cruise and I haven't had a real vacation in 5 years. :yay:

It's wonderful to meet you, give me all of your advice! :sunny:

Thanks~

Linda

Nursing is hard, but you will always have a job. To date the ER is and will always be my favorite place I worked at as a nurse. Im currently finishing my BS in Science. I think nursing is great but Im burnt out bigtime. With my Bachelors Im leaning towards Registered Dietician,Chiropractor or Science Teacher...have to decide in the next year and a half when I graduate.
I will bring you some nursing books when I meet you for you to keep, okay?
Yeah your son can play with my girls, no problem.
What excursions are you guys going on? :wave2:

:wizard: pirate:

I have been told I would be great in ER but I haven't had a chance to be there yet, this semester is critical care so maybe I'll find out! :confused3

I will have 6 more classes to get my BSN so I'm going to go ahead and do that, but I think I'll stay on med-surg for a while to get my bearing. :)

Thank you, it would be very nice to have nursing books! How nice of you! :cheer2:

I haven't really had a chance to check into the excursions much, the swim with the dolphin thing sounds fun, and so does Atlantis. There's some sort of pirate thing at one of the ports that sounds interesting too...I'll have to carve out some time to check into that stuff. :surfweb:

I learned someplace that one of the ships from Pirates II pirate: is going to be in the bay at Castaway Cay, that would be really great! Our trip is paid off this month and I'll be able to book stuff. I want to make sure my boy is enrolled in that club they have, and I need to make reservations for the dinners at DW. Do you have any recommendations for dinner shows or character meals at WDW? :wizard: I've only been once in 95 before my son was born so I really don't know anything about DW hardly. :dance3:

Do you know about Carribbean Beach? I was looking into other hotels but the travel guy kind of pushed me into that one, saying it was very popular with families and stuff. What do you think? princess:

Thanks again for your help!

Linda :cool1:

Oh, sorry, forgot to answer your question...I grew up in So Cal and have been to Disneyland countless times since I was small, but we live in rural AZ now. Been to CA Adventure several times too. This will be my first cruise :) and my second trip to DW.

Caribbean Beach is nice, I have stayed there and I liked it alot. The last place we stayed at was Coronado Springs, and it was awesome. The pools were fantastic. but Caribbean Beach pools is nice also. I think were leaning towards the Polynesian or the Fort Wilderness Lodge for our Xmas trip. Yeah the Black Pearl is the ship at Castaway Cay from PC II pirate: , my daughters are so excited...we love those movies.
How are the care plans going? I hated those soo much. And to tell you the truth they arent exactly used in the way were taught. I started on med surg as a med tech...its a great stepping stone. But watch out, my back is very bad because I worked there, alot of stooping and lifting, I will never be the same. Critical Care is awesome, never a dull moment.
The Disney Resorts we've stayed at :
Fort Wilderness 2
Caribbean Beach 1
Coronado Springs 1
Port Orleans Riverside 3
Grosvenor Downtown Disney 4
Pop Century 2
All-star Movies 2

Pop Century is a value. but we love it...your son would love it...its so cool. I like the moderates alot, but Pop Century is soo much fun to stay at and the bus system is the best!

If you have questions on any other let me know..we always tour at least one or two when we go to see what they look like or make dining reservations.

I will go by parks and pick my fav restaurant:

Magic Kingdom: Crystal Palace * great for evening fireworks
Animal Kingdom: RainForest Cafe * fun for kids
MGM Studios :wizard: : Sci-Fi Diner (make sure you go there, it soo worth it and my familys favorite, your son will love it), 50's Diner-its like walking into the 50s, and such fun the waiters/waitress are so funny...
Epcot(our personal favorite park)- England Rose and Crown,Coral Reef, and the French Bakery for evening snacks in France :artist:
Downtown Disney- RainForest Cafe, Planet Hollywood and you will love the chocolate shop, Ghirardelli's

Can some more join in?

Our family just signed up so we are going too. We will be back later with some details about who we are, but got to get back to work for now.

This need a bump to the top....:rotfl:

Hi again;

I had this entire post typed up and then I lost it. Such a pain. Then I've been in clinicals all week so I haven't had a chance to come back until now...sorry. It's critical care and leadership this semester. Plus I have an externship. Busy busy.

I grew up in So Cal so I've been to Disneyland a lot, and CA Adventure, so we've done Rainforest several times, I like it too but this trip I think we'll go to unfamiliar places. I can't sign up for stuff until I'm 75 days out which is the end of this month I think so I have time to look at stuff. :hourglass
I live in rural Arizona right now, south of Las Vegas.

Atlantis sounds fun but so does swimming with Dolphins...I need to check that out. Is the water cold there in December? :confused3

I want to shop a little too in Nassau.

I am so excited about this trip!

:dance3:

Later,

Linda

Dive right in....funny.

You asked if the water is cold....well it depends. I live in Florida and any water below 72 degress is cold. But I know in CA when I dive there it is 58 degrees.

The ocean water in December will probably be in the mid 70's. I know CC will be to cold for my daughter to snorkle in, even with her wet suit.

Joining us is Chip&Dale&Fun. They are also from Floida and cruised with us over Memorial Day for the first double scoop cruise.

Hi scuba diver! How old are your kids? Im so excited about my cruise...making my work jealous...lol!

Matthew is 16 and Lisa is 12.

This was a last minute decision for us. We got an email yesterday morning announcing some new rates. By 9 am we were booked. That is one nice thing about living close to WDW and PC. :cool1:

Were in the panhandle so its not too far, Im guessing our closer. My daughters are 10 and 11. Were excited to go and see the 2 islands and then stay at WDW world. Im leaning towards staying at the Ft Wilderness Lodge or the Swan or Dolphin. The Swan and Dolphin hae awesome military, nurse and een teacher rates. Im a nurse and my hubbys miltary.
Are you going to do Palo? Its only $10, and the rest of the food free..I love it! :dance3:

Im off to work..ugh! Have you decided where your going to stay at yet? Its such a hard decision because there are so many great places to stay.

We never miss Palo's.

It is my favorite restaurant. DW will figure out what day we are going to Parriott Cay and plan it for that night.

The kids always enjoy our Palo's night because they enjoy the servers to themselves and we always bring back some Palo deserts.
