Anyone get this AMEX offer?

We have a Hilton Honors AMEX and I received an offer for a free companion flight if I get 2 issues of travel and leisure magazine. Has anyone done any offers like this? It sounds too good to be true...and if is sounds too good to be true...

Usually those type of companion flights are only good when one flight is purchased at or above full fare. Rarely a good deal.

How do you purchase a flight at above full fare?

Sometimes they have set prices by region that can be above the current full fare. I get these offers all them time and a couple of times received a companion ticket but I've never actually used one as I would have spent more than the discount fares.
