My school gave it today and since shots scare me to death, I tightened my muscles, again... You'd think I would've learned by now not to do that. ^^;
Anyways, back on topic. Did anyone else get the vaccine yet?

I have not since I am not in the "targeted age group" but my 4 kids got theirs friday night.

Yes.....last Sat. my clinic was giving them

DH had the flu about 3 weeks ago, but he is still going to get the vaccine since they aren't testing to make sure.

I wish I could get the shot!!! I'm not in the target group. Also, I doubt I will be able to get the shot anytime soon. Most likely, they will let me get it next October.

I did not get the vaccine. My friend told me if I got H1N1, I could just use some oinkment and in a week I would be fine.

I got mine yesterday. I am in about 3 high risk groups, so I've been anxiously awaiting it, especially with the kids I teach! I'm hoping this will keep me protected.

DS and I both got it yesterday. I have been fine but he threw up as soon as he went in his classroom this morning and has been running fever all day.

Dd, 16, got hers a week ago, at school. She has been fine, with no repercussions.

My family got the shots last Wednesday, so it's been a week. None of us even got sore arms. We all felt fine. None of us have serious health problems, but since the H1N1 seems to affect healthy people too, I was on a mission to find some place to get the shots. I finally found one lonely doctor's office who was vaccinating people without restrictions.

I got it on Monday because I'm asthmatic. I started wheezing right away and have been ever since. I don't know if it's a coincidence or a side effect of the shot. :confused3

My 2 kids are signed up to get it on Monday.
It took me one hour of dialing the county health dept the day they posted a notice that they got a limited batch in to get them signed up.
Fingers crossed there'll be no side effects.

No I haven't - but I HAVE gotten H1N1 while I've been waiting! My kids got the first of the 2 vaccines needed for their age group - and they also got H1N1 while waiting (we all got it in Disney World). However, I had a more serious case (I have asthma) and they had relatively minor cases. I've been told by my doctor that I should get the shot anyway, when it's available, even though I've had the illness. So I will - and my kids will also get their second dose as soon as we can :thumbsup2

I need to but it's next to impossible to find... my girls are both high risk (underlying medical issues) and were able to get it last week from their pediatrician finally (they couldn't have the mist-had to be the shot b/c of their issues).... my mother's oncologist recommended I get it as well because I am one of her caregivers.... she's been battling metastatic breast cancer since last December (she's 58)....called my MD and they said they got a small shipment in last month and it was gone within hours... they're not expecting anymore.... no clinics set up anywhere that I know of here, so I'm out of luck for now. Just following the recommendations that I can to try to stay healthy to protect my mom.....

I got mine a little bit ago. The hospital I'm at was offering them. First, they were offering them to 1A workers, which were considered those people who are at highest risk, or deal with the sickest people, so that was ED staff, ICU (all forms: MICU, PICU, SICU, CCU, etc.), recovery room. Then, it was made available to 1B workers, which was pretty much everyone else with significant patient contact, and now it's being made available to level 2 workers, which are volunteers, administration, cafeteria workers, janitorial staff, etc.

Obviously, the levels have to do with there risk exposure, and risk of infecting other patients, and not their level of importance.

I got it about 3 weeks ago - I had the nasal mist though, no needle.

DS got his 3 weeks ago, for kids with medical problems, free from our county clinic.

DH and I got it Sunday, we fall into the asthma category. I had been looking all over for the shots, found out our local Walgreens had them. They got 200 doses on Saturday, were not advertising them on the sign outside, only on their website. I felt extremely lucky.

None of us had any reaction to them.

I did not get the vaccine. My friend told me if I got H1N1, I could just use some oinkment and in a week I would be fine.

:lmao:

My kids got theirs but I haven't gotten mine yet. I will wait until the demand for the high risk groups goes down, they need it more than I do.

I did not because I am not young or old enough and healthy! My dcs got the mist almost a month ago and never had a problem.

I was going to (since I am a diabetic) but I came down with H1N1 9 days ago. I guess now I am immune.

Yep, 1/2 hour ago! My kids got theirs, and the little ones are due for the 2nd dose next week. I have no fear of needles - I could probably give myself one! Ds6 got to skip his, because he had a confirmed case of the H1N1 flu last month.
