Anyone get sick last week down in WDW?

My 8 year old got violently ill on Monday night the 20th and was finally feeling better by the next night.....

My 18 month old got the bug on Saturday the 25th and ended up hospitalized at home on Monday night.....He is doing much better but still is not himself...

We stayed at the Boardwalk Villas and in all we had a great trip but it was just such a bummer for the boys to get so sick. I was just curious if anyone else got sick down there as well......

We were there last week, and our second day my DD had a queasy stomach, nothing big, but I went to the Marketplace at BCV to buy some Pepto and the CM at checkout said there was a virus going around that started with an upset stomach. That's probably what your kids had. So sorry they got sick. Hope they're feeling better soon!

Friends of mine just got back and 5 of the people in their family had a stomach bug during their week-long stay

I'm sorry your kids got sick on vacation.

I'm hoping that the current emphasis on handwashing and general good hygiene and sanitation is going to cut down on all the germs, especially this awful stomach illness that's been going around!

Thanks guys! The older one was fine the next night but believe it or not the little one is still on the mend. Poor little guy. Those stomach bugs can really be tough on the little ones. We tried our best to keep the kids hands clean and I even disenfected the playpen he slept in. I also always clean the remotes and phones before we use them. But the stomach bug got the better of us....Maybe next time I don't disenfect anything?!! ;o)

Hopefully the next trip will be a healthy one.....

I didn't get a stomach bug, but I got a nasty nasty case of the flu. 2 ER visits and several nebulizer treatments later, I'm feeling a little bit better. They did the test for swine flu, luckily it was negative, but I still have a nasty strain . Now DH is getting sick too.

So sorry you got sick on your trip! What a bummer! Especially since it was your frist trip since you were two! I hope you are feeling better......

I ended up finally getting the "stomach bug from hell' (which I am now calling it now) over this past weekend Friday into Monday - it was the worst!!!! Believe it or not I have lost almost 8 pounds from this stupid virus! Our family has literally been sick for over two weeks....We actually started to wonder if it was part of the whole swine flu because it was so bad but I believe that is more respitory rather than stomach.......oh well it seems we are all finally on the mend.....Thank goodness!!

We live outside of Boston and 2 weeks ago my 3 year old DD had the worse stomache I have ever seen in my entire life. She weights 32 pounds and lost 2 pounds and was hospitalized for 3 days.
I got a variation of the bug after her. The hospital told me they were having record numbers of individuals hospitalized for this bug especially young children.

I hope everyone is feeling better.
