Anyone get resort dining for free after booking?

Just wondered if anyone had booked without DDP and later been given dining for free? Seem to be people talking about this on dis. We are going for a week in October and a week in November what are our chances?

If I remember correctly the free dining was offered the last 2 weeks of August and all of September. Don't recall if it went into October. I originally had planned to stay at All Star Sports and then when free dining came out we upgraded to AK. We had no problems at all with making the changes.

Last year I think yo had to check in by Sept 28th to get free dinning. Even if you checked in on the 28th you still got the dinning for the length of your stay.

IF Disney offers it again, it'll be during the hurricane season of mid-August to late September.... Disney defines it's peak season as starting around Sept. 30 so they won't offer free dining after that considering resorts are at prime $$$$$$$ at that point....

But if you were to go during the free dining period, you can adjust your reservations to reflect the discount

I see you're from the UK -there WAS a free dining package for UK residents offered for check ins between 8/12/07 - 9/29/07, but it expired 11/6/06. I wonder if this is what they meant about being given the dining plan for free? Here's the info from that expired offer:

Do you remember how the offers are distributed? In other words, do they send it out to anyone booked? We are currently holding room only, but might upgrade to a package (even though i realize that would null our current discount) if offered free DDP.

When we visited WDW the last week of September 2005, we booked in February 2005, and there was no DP discount. My DD read about the free DP offer on a Disney message board. Since we met the requirements (booking the trip before August 1st for travel before September 30th), they added the discount to our package. (We had not originally booked the DP.) And our trip went into October, and the free DP still applied. In other words, keep calling back and checking!

thats right too! i booked it last year but for the life of me could not remember when it was offered. keeping my fingers crossed for it this year
