Anyone Game? 2 Castles and a Road Trip TR! Last Day and TR Wrap Up! #2796; 10/01

Great witty photo captions. I bet most of those people regret not joining you at The Cheesecake Factory (which I cannot eat there without getting dessert). The Unleash the Villains was madness according to the reports. You're lucky you skipped it, since standing still and not being able to move or accomplish much would not be fun whilst jet lagged.

Beignets. Yay. I guess that was worth skipping dessert at the Cheesecake Factory.

I am going to eat as many Halloween treats as I can without getting sick. They all looks fantastic.

Fran thought it would be great if we had two toilets next to each other so we could both potty together! :lmao: :rotfl2: :scared: :confused3

Cracking up over this one.:lmao::crazy2::lmao:

Nice update. I think I need to wear this shirt to work sometimes.

Wonderful start!!! I do so love your photos - and the food! Yum!! :thumbsup2
Looking forward to reading and seeing more!! :coffee:

Hmmmmm.....note to self - enstead of losing 10 pounds vacation weight in preperation 4 my adventures n2 DISneyland next December, I see I need to lose 15!!:rotfl:
(MAN!!!! I felt like HOMER SIMPSON looking at a donut when I was droolng er......LOOKING at your food pics!!)

LOVE the Haiku and of course your usual writing style! Just the thing to lift my day! Think Fran and Alison's house to be looks really great. Yes pity about missing a 13th Villian's party but its no fun being that tired and at DL, as we discovered this year on our first day at DLP-the mind is willing-the body is not! Have no doubt you more than made up for it in the coming days and the food looked yum at the Cheesecake Factory (still haven't quite made it to one yet -don't know what keeps stopping us!)

Loving your TR and your photography!

:cheer2:

I feel like i'm right there with you!!

Love the latest update! Love the cheesecake factory my goodness I can't believe it looks good without my beloved meat!

Omg those cookies! I have two hands only one mouth a serious bottleneck if faced with those lol..

Yes the perfect creme I have never seen one of these in America. Honestly please try our coffee a good Italian coffee like Illy. It needs nothing other than it's pure black nectar and it's perfect creme. If it doesn't have the perfect creme we send it back. It goes down like velvet. It's to do with the barr pressure on the machine used and like PIO says the temperature. You need a good expresso machine. The first time I ordered a coffee in a restaurant in America the server said 'sure honey I will brew you a fresh pot' I said to Jo ' what ...? ' a pot? You make coffee one at a time...

As for tea... I bring a kettle with me. You don't use kettles. I nearly fainted when I saw somebody attempt to make tea using a microwave! Omg! The water has to be boiling hot onto the tea. Brew for 3-4 mins. Sugar and milk if needed. Not luke warm water from hot earns! Just isn't hot enough.

But America that's your only down side. Your food and service far better than ours. Our servers spit at us lol. So rude!

Love the pictures! Can't wait to read more. As C3PO would say 'How rude' not showing up for the dismeet! Well their loss. You did so well staying up I am so impressed!

PM please when you start a report. I love them and would hate to miss it. :teeth: Back to page 1 for me. :hyper:

Wonderful updates!

Cheesecake Factory looked delightful! I've never been to one before, but definitely want to one of these days!

Downtown was a great way to end your very long day! I love those Minnie apples! They are just too adorable!

Your dessert looked tasty! If we ever make it to Disneyland, they are now on the must eat list!!!

I really enjoyed all the photographs of the shop displays! Very creative way to describe your evening!! :-)

Loved the pictures of Alison and Fran's new house!! Can't wait to see pictures with their stuff in it and the Haunted Mansion room you are talking about!

Denise, you can always follow along in the progress using the link in my signature. It has been quite an ordeal along the way, it's the Saga of our Disney Dream Home thread. I owe an update over there now that I am back and working on home related stuff.

Loving the food pics YUMMY! I was surprised when you said you ate at the cheesecake factory as I first associated it with our cheesecake shop and so just expected cheesecakes :) I loved the lego store, the time and effort that goes into those displays, they are amazing.
cant wait for more:cheer2:

Great photos!! (and I love the little montage at the end where you use the pics to enhance your tale....!). As for the food porn, I'll take a ghost cupcake and a Jack Skellington pop, please! :goodvibes Yum!

And I, for one, will never, ever judge on you about beignets.....We get them in WDW at POFQ on every trip!! :upsidedow

.

Leave that creamy stuff off the top and you would have a good cup of coffee. :lmao:

The crema is the froth that is created when you extract coffee at the right water temperature. It is pure caffeinated bubbly! The crema is normally a good yardstick to judge a barista. :thumbsup2

You got stood up? :sad2: Looks like you had a nice meal at the Cheesecake Factory on your own anyway.

I love all your photos from Downtown Disney :thumbsup2 I'm totally with you - I would never go into the park on that first day in a sleep deprived state. As much of a shame as it was to miss the Friday the 13th Villains party...

I was fine with being stood up. If I was awake and in the timezone, I too would have gone to the Villians party.

I think that we had a lively, engaging and intelligent conversation. :confused3

I will take one of each, thank you very much!

I loved all your photos, even the pesky vegetarian food porn looked pretty good! I love the beignets from Brennans! Your photos of World of Disney are so inspired! How neat to capture such a unique perspective on the displays.

Thanks Alison. I love those Villian hands in WoD. I've taken a picture of one or two; but not the whole set like this time.

I still need to read the latest update but I didn't want to forget this. In regards to your lack of good coffee, I bought one of these for my mom and stepmom, it's a French press and mug in one, they love it. Might be an option for your next trip.

http://www.amazon.com/Bodum-Insulat...71561&sr=8-1&keywords=french+press+travel+mug

OOOH! Thanks, Pam. :thumbsup2 It might be something I need to add to my Christmas list for myself this year.

(But what will I do for coffee grounds in the US?? :rotfl2:)

Too bad you didn't get to have your meet. But it looks like you had a great dinner and a fun, albeit exhausted!, time at DTD. :thumbsup2

I was fine with the no-mee(a)t. I think it worked out great for me and my family. We were definitely tired by that time and a quiet night meandering through DTD was what we wanted.

Hi! I'm here:yay:....love your photos...makes me sad we didn't get to DTD on this trip!

Bobbi:goodvibes

You can always add a trip to DTD on your next vacay. (How envious am I that you can go so often! :flower3:)

It's nice to see the pictures from the Residence Inn Maingate where you have stayed. The room looks very comfortable and has a small kitchen which is nice to have. But I'll stick at my preferred hotels on Harbor Blvd when I go to Anaheim.

All the food from the Cheesecake Factory and the Halloween treats look very nice. That was one of the things that I didn't do during the trip is to go in DTD and look for any Halloween decorations. But you got to see the Halloween treats at the Marceline’s Confectionery shop which is a fun place to go and get treats.

The Lego store at DTD is fun to go in and see all the creations.

The pictures from the World of Disney store character displays look very nice up close. The Friday the 13th Villains party that night was just crazy. I definitely wanted to go that day but I was just glad to come along at the last second with my DB and his GF.

Very nice update.

And I'm so glad that you managed the LAST second trip as well, Bret. I linked Alison's TR at the start of my TR and will be adding yours once I get up to our meet.

The Residence Inn was nice and it was our 3rd time back there; but I think DH and I agreed that we probably wouldn't stay there again.
Nothing wrong with it....just that it seemed a little too far away this time.

I'm late but I'm here! Love all the photos! Love Fran and Alison's new house!!!

I used to go crazy on the 9 hours flight to Frankfurt....I will suck it up so I can go to Australia in a couple of years. :)

Jill in CO

 Glad you made it over!!!

You're coming to Australia?? I'm always up for a DisMeet (assuming that you're here when I'm in the country and not away on holiday). How fun! Something to look forward to. When are you thinking of coming?

Kim - I'm pretty sure that the other Aussies were having a blast in the parks and didn't miss me at all. :goodvibes

Cracking up over this one.:lmao::crazy2::lmao:

Nice update. I think I need to wear this shirt to work sometimes.

I love that shirt too. It was one of those things that I wished I had bought; and I should have picked it up on the night.....but I figured that there would be time to shop later.

Yeah. Right.

Wonderful start!!! I do so love your photos - and the food! Yum!! :thumbsup2
Looking forward to reading and seeing more!! :coffee:

 You can stay. You're very good for my ego. :rotfl:

I've been slowly lurking on your PTR. You're doing so well on the weight loss front. Looking forward to seeing your pictures from DL when you go.

Thanks Wendy. The Cheesecake Factory is one of DH's favourites. And we know that they have vegetarian food there that he will eat. It's worth a stop, on one of your trips.

Loving your TR and your photography!

I feel like i'm right there with you!!

Hey Bec! Thanks. I hope you'll stay right there with me.

We have Illy's in Australia. But right now, the trend is for the really good coffee shops to roast their own bean and grind it right there. We are really serious about coffee in Melbourne. :lmao:

PM please when you start a report. I love them and would hate to miss it. :teeth: Back to page 1 for me. :hyper:

I'll remember to do that next time. Glad you're here! Thanks.

Thanks. I'm actually surprised at how many people haven't been to the Cheesecake Factory.

I'm here! And will be back to read later :goodvibes

YAY! You're here. Hope you had a great trip.

Loved the pictures of Alison and Fran's new house!! Can't wait to see pictures with their stuff in it and the Haunted Mansion room you are talking about!

I saw that Alison posted her link. :thumbsup2

Tash - When you go and if you have the chance, check out the Cheesecake Factory. They have a very extensive menu.....and lots of cheesecake as well.

Great photos!! (and I love the little montage at the end where you use the pics to enhance your tale....!). As for the food porn, I'll take a ghost cupcake and a Jack Skellington pop, please! :goodvibes Yum!

Another beignet lover! :thumbsup2

You must bring your own favorite coffee from home of course :)

Great update, all those delicious Halloween treats had me drooling. I worked at Cheesecake Factory for a while, it used to be my favorite restaurant. I still enjoy it, the cheesecake is to die for!

You took so many cool photos, I'm loving it!

That food porn looks seriously good. It is great to see such a variety of vegetarian food. I think you actually got the better deal. All the reports that I heard about the Villain's event mentioned that the crowds were hellish. If all had gone according to plan, I should have been at Disneyland for this, but instead I have a holiday trip to Walt Disney World to look forward to.

I love all the Halloween treats and I seriously have to check if they do the purple Grumpy shirt at Walt Disney World. This would make a perfect Christmas present for DH.

I had heard that the Villain's event did not go quite so smoothly.

I'm sorry that you didn't make DLR, it would have been cool to catch up! But we can all look forward to your holiday at WDW. :dance3:

I'd be very surprised if you didn't find that Grumpy shirt at WDW. "Happy" shopping??? :rolleyes1
