Anyone from Canada get the 40% off code yet?

Hi there. I know this may seem like a silly question, but do I need to have the reservation made BEFORE I call to ask if there's a discount code associated with my name? I just got a quote from CAA for a package in September, but have not yet made the reservation. Wanting to see if I can get a better deal through Disney directly. Dates are flexible - but likely going in late September.

What happens if by the time us Canadians start getting the codes and they are all filled up b/c those who recieved it in the States booked first?

I know they usually only have a limited number of rooms available per code per resort?

Does anyone know how this works? Are we just out of luck if the resort are all filled from the US codes?

Stephanie

I was wondering what the 1-877 number is that you call to talk to a CM about the 40% discount. Please let me know as we are looking to book this week or next. Thanks! :confused3

DH just off the phone with a CM from the 1-877 #.

Still no code for us. :sad1:

But she said the discount was being released TODAY to random area's within Canada via e-mail and postcards.

I'm going to try again tonight when I get home from work.

Keeping my fingers crossed here!

Another CM confirmed that email and postcard PINs have started going out to CANADIAN households TODAY. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for some pixie dust. Last year mine came on Jan 18th.

:goodvibes
I've checked my email soooo many times :surfweb: My dh is laughing at me everytime I go near the computer! OHHHHHH I hope I hope we get one! When I saw the October dates lined up perfectly with when we're going.. pixiedust: Here's a little pixie dust for all.

OMG me too! I'm at work today and going nuts - this damn discount is all I can think about. :rotfl: I've never felt this anxious about something before. :scared:

I'd love to have another 40% for our Octoner/November trip. No email from Disney Destinations today. Lets hope for tomorrow!

Charleyann

Good Luck everyone!

I was all excited I had a postcard in the mail from Disney but it was only a presale code for the Disney on Ice show coming to Toronto. I really would like to go back in December and a code would sure help.

I am feeling so stressed out over this, I have checked my email a million times today. I called the CM and he told me that they have my email address and I may be on the list. What does that mean...may.:confused3 He said there are blackout dates to be advised on. So I am hoping it is not when we are planning to go. It means the difference between the Value or the Moderate resorts for us. Please come tomorrow.:worship: Please! I can't take waiting anymore.

Do you think our dates of discount travel will be the same? I'm assuming they will be.

Jan 6 - 17, 20 - 31
Feb 24 - Mar 5
Mar 30 - Apr 8
Aug 10 - Sept 27
Oct 19 - Nov 1
Nov 9 - 15
Dec 7 - 17

When I talked to the CM he said for sure the dates Aug 10- Sept 27 would be a good date, with the black out dates starting Sept 28 into most of October. So it looks like you got it right.

Spoke to CM Reagan this morning (she was very curt) and once again stated there was no PIN # associated with our name/address. She also could not confirm if the promo has been released by the marketing team via e-mail or mailer.

This is so frustrating, but I'm not going to give up!

3006 views to this post... and still no official pin codes for any of us Canadians! :confused3

Keep trying though, here's hoping some magic comes our way soon! :wizard:

I called two days ago and inquired about a code attached to my name - and they said YES!!! :cool1: Now I just have to convince DH that we need to go in 2008! They wouldn't give me specific dates, but told me mid-October and early December were dates I could use the code.
I'm throwing a bunch of Pixie pixiedust: Dust your way - just call and ask!

Edited: I just called to ask for more information and it seems that my PIN code offer was released in August, but I didn't receive it then. But it is valid until Deceber 13, 2008. It looks like it's 30% off or more. HTH

Just got off the phone with a CM looking to see if there was a code on our name. Nothing.

After talking to her for a bit and getting a quote for our trip, she said that they will NOT be offering the Free Dining this year. :headache:

Let's hope she was just having a bad moment.....

Don't know if I did the right thing or not. I called Disney to see if I could book a trip and how long I had to cancel if I did book one. So she gave me a quote for POP for room only at rack rate, and then she said Oh just wait here. There is a PIN with your name!!! I tried to act cool and the pin was for 20% off rack rate. I really wanted to ask her if I had the 40% off code, but I was too chicken too. :sad2: So I had her put the ressie on hold since I really want to go, only question is, can I call back and now see if I have the 40% off attached to my name?

I really want to go, but only if I can get the 40% off code, but if I get into college for fall, I will have to wait another year.

I really should have waited to see if I got the 40% code, right?

Now I am depressed and think I got ahead of myself b/c I can get this discount with CAA.

Happy, yet disappointed  :sad2: On a brighter note, she said would I like to be notified by mail or email of any discounts or promotions, YES I said. lol

Not sure if I should call back or not.

Considering what others have been told recently by CM's (i.e. the code was released to Canadians this week - I think a few of us would have one by now), we cannot take what they say about a marketing endeavour as fact.

I'm still hopeful for free dining - I don't think it would sit two well with the colonies if only the Brits got offered the deal in a non-Bounceback manner.
