ANyone fly in and out of Tampa?

To make the BEST use of my frequent flier tickets I am thinking of flying in and out of Tampa instead of Orlando. Gains me an extra day at WDW....we always rent a car regardless...Anyone else ever do it? Is it a big deal? thanks!

Yep, we've done it. If you know you are renting a car, and the air/car costs are lower, then it's a good decision.

It's a pretty easy drive from Tampa...probably about 70 miles from the Tampa airport to WDW, so about an hour. Well worth it if you are saving $$!

Not a bad drive. Just try to avoid arriving in Tampa at Rush hour. It ties up on the interstate near the airport

I land in Tampa at 8:00 AM on a Saturday and leave at 11:00 AM on a Sunday. Lucky for me as the traffic would have been an issue..hadn 't thought of rush hour....thanks!
