Got a really good deal on a flight with Delta I've never flown them before?? How bad is it??

I hate the fact that I couldn't fly direct it's just so much cheaper. I have a layover in Minneapolis on the way down and Detroit and the way home

They were okay, I guess. We flew with them from Calgary to Orlando last winter; the first leg was in a rather small plane with no entertainment...and the second leg was a slightly bigger plane with the drop down screens (I think). That part surprised me as I'm used to WestJet and Air Canada having the screens in the seats.

I don't recall any food for purchase...but I could be wrong about that.

But the flight itself was no problem at all.

I just dont like the minneapolis transfer they seem to love from edmonton to Orlando but they have been good when have flown with them. I prefer air Canada and westjet though.

In the past 5 years I have flown with Delta to San Juan twice, LA once and Orlando seven times. All flights were out of Detroit. Almost all their flights were Boeing 757 aircraft. Flights from Detroit to Orlando had no entertainment since the flights are only 2 hours and 15 minutes. They have a very good "on time" schedule and they do sell the normal snacks/sandwich etc that other airlines offer. They also have a frequent flier program. For the price of their tickets, it seems to be a good deal for me.

I've flown with them several times. Good and bad experience. As long as everything goes well their fine. If there's a problem, don't expect great customer service.

On time our luggage didn't make our connection and was put on the next flight arriving past midnight. They stop luggage delivery at midnight. So I had to wait for the morning to get my luggage delivered. I told them I was just at that hotel the one night, due to late flight. We were going to continue on (bty car) to next destination. Was assured we'd get luggage first thing in the morning. Didn't get it till 5pm:scared1: had to take late check out, and pay. Delta did nothing to compensate.

Last trip I got my suitcase (only 18 mos old) off baggage carousel minus handle. Again nothing from Delta, except the guy pointed to the sign that said they're not responsible..

We flew Delta for March Break and my daughter kept telling us it standds for don\t expect luggage to arrive. While we arrived on time our luggage did not. 3 days later it was delivered to our house and like a preious poster said, the shape of the luggage was not even close to the shape it left in. So much so that we had to throw one away. We are frequent flyers usually Air canada, west jet or jet blue and have never had an issue even with tight connections.
Service wasn't bad on board and for the most part they were very nice. The plane we flew in first was an older one. A little dirty inside and one in flight movie for a 6 hour flight and it wasn't kid appropriate. Flight home was a newer model and we did have the entertainment systems behind the seats. We did arrive at our final destinations on time, but our flight coming home was 2 hours late arriving at the airport therefore we we were very late arriving at our lay over. Alot of times when we have been on a plane that is late and people have tight connections the flight attendents have found out gate numbers and asked everyone without connections to remain sitting so those that have to run can run, they would not do this on this flight and while we made it . I am sure there were many who didn't. We had to do the home alone dash through the airport and just made it,, but our luggage didn't. If I had to fly with them again i would, but I would rather spend extra money and fly with an airline we have found more reliable.

We fly Delta at least once a year because it is so much cheaper to fly from Detroit. We had good flights everytime without any issues. There is slightly more room on their planes compared to the discount airlines like Spirit and the terminal in Detroit is excellent. We've always had a movie and/or tv shows. We usually go to Ft Lauderdale at March Break and have also flown to Seattle. It is our preferred airline because Air Canada and West Jet are usually 3x the price.
