As the title says I am getting a good price for this route. I know Delta used to do it and now Virgin has taken over. Will it be a Virgin plane? Or a Delta with codeshare? Can't see any info on Virgin website about the route. Anyone done it who can give some info?
TIA

I haven't flown it myself but suspect it will be a Virgin plane form MAN to ATL. I would be interested to hear anything that people could add about flying via ATL since I am looking at LHR-ATL-MCO for August.

That's the route I'm taking but into Key West and out of Daytona 4th - 20th August for £480pp

Once Virgin take over its going to operated by an A330. I *think* they start in March.

The ATL - MCO leg with on Delta :)

We flew that route in 2013. Had great outbound trip, a few hour stopover in atl gave us chance to clear customs and have a meal then on to orlando. We did unfortunately hit big problems on our return leg but I think we were just unlucky as we had left ourselves a long (or so we thought) layover time of a few hours but were delayed leaving MCO so missed connecting flight. Managed to get on next flight as standy passengers but when we got back to heathrow our bags were still in Atlanta!

The flight itself and connecting through Atlanta was fine though I think we were just a bit unlucky!

We are doing this route this July/August... It was a good price for us. MAN to ATL is Virgin (now departing at 10:30). Internal flight is Delta. 2 hour 5 min layover which I hope is enough. Never done indirect before so hoping for the best! We are all quite excited about seeing another airport (that's so sad isn't it!) you do all immigration stuff in Atlanta, so looking forward to walking straight to car hire in Orlando!

Having done this two years back I can confirm that the internal flights are good, the plane train at Atlanta is easy to understand and the staff there will make sure you make it from Customs and Immigration to your section and gate for your flight and there are plenty of restrooms and shops to grab a rest or pick up a hot snack or quick sandwich. If there are any delays due to weather issues the staff at the gates will keep everyone regularly informed and make sure you get to your flight they are brilliant at this never had anything but great customer care from them.

Hi

I'm looking at various routes for 2017 and starting my research now. Can you state how you found those prices ie flight search engine website and which one or direct with which airline. Also what time of year did you book these... during a sale period? when they first came out etc....

I'm yet to find a decent search website that allows multi stop requests obviously doing something wrong !!!!

Have there been any disadvantages by hiring car from one airport and dropping at another?

Thanks

I've just been on the virgin website and it wouldn't allow me to add multi stops . Am I doing something wrong? or do I just type in final destination. It wouldn't allow me to have a different route back hence my previous comment was a flight serach web site used for these prices???

Thanks

I think you need to book on the Delta website, I've just checked for us via their website and found stops via Atlanta. Think we'll stick to VA direct.

By Va direct I assume you mean going into store or calling them???

Do they usually beat the online prices then?

Booking direct on VA website. Flying direct and using my miles, works out better fur us, it's not that much less to go indirect and with 2 kids 5 cases and a stroller I would rather fly direct!!

Hi there,

We found the flights on kayak following a tip off on one of the forums .... Flights were booked about four weeks ago, Virgin flights on Delta code share booked through net flights. Flights into MCO and Tampa are still fairly expensive but check out flights in/out of Daytona, Fort Meyers or The Keys

Go on Kayak, pop in Multi Stop .... Ours were LHR - Key West 4 August then Daytona - LHR 20 August .... Don't worry about the airport in between it'll sort that for you

Rachel,
Try Skyscanner. They give you loads of different options. I eventually booked with them direct with Virgin from Man outgoing and coming back via Atlanta return. Saved £250 taking the indirect option for the return flights. Have also never flown direct before so that will be a treat on the way out! Play around with days, airports etc to find the best deal.
