The last few times at Disney we have driven. This year we are flying out of Indy and wondering how early do we need to arrive to make our flight on time?

that depends.

Have you been to the new terminal? Parking is SO much better at the new terminal compared to the old.

What time to arrive depends on which airline you are flying, and whether you are checking bags, or if you have pre-printed your boarding passes and can go straight to the security checkpoint.

We are a family of seasoned fliers (kids are older teens who have been flying for years) so they know what to expect and the security lines move pretty quickly. We fly carry on only, and pre-print our boarding passes. With early morning flights, we arrive at the airport 75 minutes before our flight begins boarding and have never had a problem.

Where you are parking should figure in. If you plan on park ride and fly, it's a little far from the terminal and you should add another 10 minutes at least into what you figure.

That said, the lines usually move pretty fast since its not a terribly busy airport most of the time. We usually allow 1 1/2 hours.

We flew out of Indy last March, flying nonstop Airtran. Our flight left around 7am. We checked in online the night before, had a family member drop us off outside the terminal, checked our luggage in the booth there outside the terminal, and were through security in a few minutes. It was a long line but moved fast.

The check in line was LONG LONG LONG - I am so glad I checked in online the night before!

I think we made it about 90 minutes before our flight, and spent most of that wandering around waiting to board.

Indy has a great airport, security was friendly, everything was neat and clean and well-laid out. We were shocked out how unfriendly MCO was after Indy (my first commercial flight, so I'd had no idea what to expect).
