Anyone find a fair/decent minivan rate for August (next week)?

We haven't rented a car for the past few years. We kinda like leaving the driving to someone else. Even the crowded buses seem like a break from the regular rush-hour grind at home.

Anyway, DH is going to Pats/Bucs game in Tampa while we are in WDW, so we need a rental. Further, the teens are trying to talk Dad into a road trip to visit WWoHP (not me). To accommodate these voyages, I have secured a car at a great rate. Our plan currently is to send DH and oldest DD to get car and drive to CSR, while I travel via ME with the rest of the gang.

This plan is perfectly acceptable. However, I feel it is worth investigating whether we can get a minivan for fair/decent rate. I've tried various combinations of codes and coupons with the usual suspects (Alamo, Nat'l, Dollar, Avis), with no luck. Literally nothing under $650.

Anyone willing to share their secret combo to get a deal?

What are your dates?

Do you have a BJ's membership? They have pretty good rates and coupons.

Also, check mousesavers.com. Alamo and National seem to be the lowest. Adjust your pick up time if the rate is high. Sometimes that helps.

Weird all I am seeing is $900 for minivans for 10 days now from Alamo. Same dates as you too.

Where do you get your BJs coupon codes from? Do you call the store?

ETA - I went to the bjs website where they publish their codes but I couldnt match those prices at all for august or september...I have a 298$ (including fees) minivan quote from national for sept 27 to oct 2 including insurance and additional drivers but cant seem to beat it!
