Anyone familiar with Oakwater Resort?

I just found out about this vacation home community. It appears to be a newer community in the same area as Windsor Hills but looking at the map it appears it might be even closer to Disney than Windsor Hills! I like that it is gated and the units are like townhouses (no neighbors above or below you) but the units have a condo layout with the living room, balcony, kitchen, bedrooms,etc. all on the same second level floor (accessed by a flight of carpeted steps) and the entry door and garage are on the first level floor (the unit we are looking at has an installed safety gate at the top of the steps). The rates and most reviews on VRBO are pretty awesome (I'm assuming because it's a new development). From the photos the grounds and landscaping look immaculate and there is a nice lagoon style zero depth entry pool area with jacuzzi and a splash pad with a playground right next to it. Just wanted to know if any other Dis'ers have stayed here.

I actually own a unit there. It's as good as the pictures show! (IMHO!) We bought about 3 years ago. Not all the units are townhouses. It sounds like the unit you looked at is an upstairs 3BR. In that case, there would be 3BR unit under you. The property has some 2BR second floor units, 3BR ground floor or second floors units. And there are some 3BR townhouses, with the LR, KIT on ground floor and the bedrooms upstairs. We spent alot of time looking 3 years ago. We looked at all the nearby vacation home resorts. One of the main reasons we settled on Oakwater was it close location (yes it is closer than Windsor Hills), and the fact that it has garages. We leave our car there in the wintertime, even though we are not there full time. It also has great amenities (zero entry pool, splash fountain area, playground, tennis court, and hot tub that they keep HOT, Of course, vacation rentals are not only about the property but also about the owner and the management company. Thank you for replying. I really like what I've seen so far in terms of the bit of research I've done on the community. It appears to be located off of N Old Lake Wilson Road just like Windsor Hills but on the other side of the road and closer to 192 (based on the map I looked at) which is exciting to me cause I didn't think I could get any closer to WDW than Windsor Hills (apart from Silver Lake or Bonnet Creek)! For our May trip we are doing a split stay by starting out onsite at Pop Century for a couple nights before moving offsite and we only have the onsite portion booked so far because I learned from our last trip that we can snag great last minute deals for condos/homes closer to the 60 day mark, so Oakwater is definitely at the top of our list along with Windsor Hills
