Anyone familiar with Logan Canyon, Utah?

Next week we're driving up highway 89 from Logan to Garden City, then up to Montpelier, Idaho. We're flying in to Salt Lake City, driving thru Brigham City, Logan, Montpelier, back to Woods Cross, then back. This is the first time we've planned such a trip, to a place we've never been, just to do sightseeing of the nature, countryside. Before we go, I was hoping someone would have some tips, recommendations, anything would help. Anyone?
