Anyone familiar with Charleston, SC airport?

My DH and I are flying into CHS the end of April for a few days to visit Charleston. We are renting a car thru Budget, which says it is at the airport. Are the cars actually AT the airport, or just the counter, which then shuttles you offsite? I'm used to MCO, where I cross the street to get my rental car, but know at my small, local airport(Bradley), the rental cars are off-site.

It has been several years since I flew into Charleston but if my memory serves they are in a lot right next to the airport. It's a small place.

I was just there a few months ago and there was a lot right there with Rentals (don't remember the companies though). It is a VERY small airport though! I was there for a conference so didn't get to see much, but it was a beautiful city. Have fun

Hertz, Avis, National, Budget and Enterprise have desks in the Rental Car section of the airport terminal building. The cars are parked just outside of the building next to that Rental Car section.
