A friend just returned from WDW and said EE broke down 4 times the day she was there. The finally closed the ride for the day just as she was at the front of the line. The told her they had had technical difficulties. She was then in line for the Kilimanjaro Safari talking to the man in front of her in line. He said he was on EE when it broke down. He was near the top and they had to walk out! On a narrow plank with very little to hold on to!

Now, I am deathly afraid of heights. I would still be sitting on that ride unable to climb out. Maybe I could scoot out on my behind!

Has anyone had this experience?

I overheard a conversation in the laundry room at Pop Century a few weeks ago. A couple was on EE when it broke down. They too were at the very top of the ride and had to walk down the stairs.

I'm guessing that there were problems with either the switch track sensors or the switch itself. I've heard that it happens from time to time.

I did notice the collapsible handrail (to the left of the tracks) on the way up that big hill. I am not a big fan of open heights, and would probably have a tough time with it myself!

That would be very scary. I don't think I could walk down those steps. *Crosses fingers* Hopefully that won't happen!!

Hold up!!!! How high and how many steps are we talking about?????

We went last week to EMH and the train was stuck almost at the top of the lift .They were taking people off 2 at a time and walking them up into the mountian.

We fastpassed it and rode it about 1 hr. later.

The first time we rode EE all I could think about was if it broke down and how far up we would be and what a scared princess I would be climbing down  That narrow stairway does not look too enviting.

Oh dear! Now I'm a little worried. I've been looking forward to riding since last year. Just how collapsible is the handrailing???? I too am afraid of heights and would have to really control myself not to have a panic attack.

I'll let ya'll know how the ride goes when we get back next week. I am not going to let this dissuade me as my DD12 has been waiting to ride EE ever since she saw it being built in Feb 2005!

Here's to hoping for a smooth ride!

I didn't mean to imply that the handrail appeared shaky. It was recessed into the landscaping so as to remain hidden from view until needed. Then again, I can't vouch for the sturdiness either, as I didn't see it deployed while we were riding. It is 'folded up' next to the stairs, so to speak, during normal ride operations.
