I'm thinking of applying for a job teaching GED classes at my local community college. How are the students? Are they there willingly? Are they lazy, not wanting to do work? I have no idea what to expect.
Currently I teach sixth-grade (Language Arts, Reading, Social Studies). This coming school year I'll be teaching first grade
because of budget issues (they are eliminating positions/moving teachers around). To be honest, I've been thinking about getting into teaching at the college level and I thought this would be good experience to see if I enjoy it (I prefer older kids over younger). To teach GED classes you only need a Master's degree, which I have (MLS).
Any thoughts?
TIA
