Anyone every driven HH to WDW?

We just got back from WDW last night and already looking forward to our October trip. Also, we are thinking of a leaving HH in December and driving over to WDW before heading back to Dallas. Anyone every driven it? How long is the drive?

I just can't think of missing the Christmas decor this year, and, even though our annual passes will expire in November, I happen to have two one-day hoppers burning a hole in my pocket!

Lots of times. It takes about 5 hours. Definitely worth the road trip to see the lights at MGM!

I would say do it..

The drive is a tad bit over 5 hours (depending on the construction on I-95), and I don't think it'd be too far out of your way on the way back to Dallas.

So....it really is just around 5 hours? I'm cancelling the Friday night after Christmas at HH to drive down to WDW and spend two nights. I figure if we leave Friday morning, we can arrive mid-day, spend the afternoon at Downtown Disney, dinner at Ohana, and then spend as much time at the parks on Saturday as we possibly can. Short trip, but at least we can see the decorations, fill up with Disney spirit to get me through the new year, and the drive back to Dallas is almost the same from Hilton Head and WDW.

My experience has been the earlier you can leave the island, the better your chances are at getting to WDW in 5 hours (or even a tad less). Case in point: we were meeting up with friends at WDW a couple of weeks ago---they decided to do a leisurely morning at HH and then got stuck in a big traffic jam due to an accident on the 278 (just off island). These kinds of backups happen a lot in the summer as well. So, get packed up and try to leave early and you'll be glad you did. Other than that, your plan sounds very do-able. We like to leave around 8 am (even earlier on a Sat. in summer) and go straight to DTD for lunch at the Earl's, enjoy the rest of DTD and then check in and do something that night (usually a park due to having AP's).
