Anyone ever worked for Macy's?

I just put in my application for a seasonal position. I'm a student and I already have a part time job but unfortunately, I work for a struggling family business and there just isn't all that much work left for me. I've been through the Macy's interview process before, but they needed people to work days and I could only work nights. This time I have pretty much unlimited availability and could really use a little extra $$ for my upcoming WDW trips (already finished all my Christmas shopping!) I'm hoping to work in Women's, Kid's, or the Junior's departments :goodvibes

Anyway, has anyone ever worked for Macy's? Or any other retail (I've only done office work)? How was it? What should I expect? Any input would be appreciated!

I did when the kids were little. When I was there I worked in a commissioned department (lingerie) and made pretty good money for the hours worked. Expect tired feet, LONG hours (sometimes it was after 1:00AM before I got home) and crabby co-workers. I started as a seasonal employee and then kept working for 2 more years.

I did for a bit when they bought out jordan marsh. I worked in men's polo/ralph lauren and it wasn't too bad. honestly I would avoid womens/jrs/kids like the plague. men are MUCH neater, the people who worked in the women's areas of the stores used to complain so much about how inconciderate/slobby the women cutomers were. the dressing rooms were crazy, often times people wouldn't even bother putting stuff back on the hanger. men, on the other hand, if they even bothered to try things on, would at least hand the stuff they didn't want to me to put back.

just something to think about.
