If so, what was the walk like?

Any other tips on getting to/from Wet n Wild?

We won't have a car.

I know the hotel offers a free shuttle, but I'm thinking if we want to leave sooner/later than the shuttle time, we'll need other options.

Taxi is always an option, but was curious about the walk.

Never walked it, but Universal Blvd is extremely busy and would not fancy walking it ,especially in the heat and trying to get across the roads. I would say get a taxi as it would not be very expensive, probably be a 15 minute walk at least

It can be done -- dh and I have done it. We were also younger and less seasoned. I would not recommend doing it with kids. I also recommend getting a taxi back to the resort. After a day at Wet 'n Wild the last thing I'd want to do is walk back to RPR. Also, the traffic is not expecting pedestrians, so you have to be very vigilant.

sorry, but walking back and forth from i-drive is no problem at all. the first crossing from w an w is easy. the second one across universal boulevard. easy. the third one is even easier although you will find it strange having cars coming past you on your left if going up to universal. done it about 20 times. its a breeze.

Well, maybe my kid travel companions are more whiny than others -- my ds and niece would lose their minds if I asked them to walk back to RPR after Wet 'n Wild. Yes, it certainly can be done. Should it? You have to know your party. It's not an option for mine. These kids would not view the walk as an adventure, they would be seriously annoyed. They're tweens, I would think little kids would have trouble with the walk back because they were tired.

I think this is another case of knowing your travellers, and how they like to vacation!

:goodvibesThanks for all the replies.

Guess I should have clarified who's in our group. It will be me, DH, DS12 & DS15.

We don't really mind a bit of a walk. My DS's are the outdoorsy type (they spent about 4 hours uping & downing hills in the snow yesterday on their sledding adventure, then walked about 25 minutes in the snow to get back home).

Also, we probably won't be spending full days at W&W, but may go over in the morning & head back in the early afternoon, so water park fatigue probably won't be an issue.

Perhaps since it sounds doable, we'll give it a go one day & see what we think. If I chicken out, there's always the taxi :car:!
