I have used them three times. 1 time Alamo and 2x's Avis.
Lately, the bidding has been awful!!!! I put in my usual 17.00 per day for a standard car and it was rejected, tried 18 for a full size, again, rejected. I don't need to pay them a 5.95 handling charge for a rate I can get on my own.
was accepted on a a compact car from alamo on priceline :
pick up : MCO ( Orlando )
09/13/03 - 09/20/03 Compact from ALAMO
for 15 USD a day plus taxes and fees for a total of 145 USD
Lucky me, the "regular" rental rates seem pretty hi in the moment even with coupons and codes ...
We used priceline for a car in Dec for our 13 day stay. It was during the holiday and prices were high. We got Hertz and we were very happy with the price and car. It was a full size car. I can't remember the price but it was a considerable savings.
Wow, it sounds like all the big name rental companies, are these the only ones that will come up, or could you end up with a no name? What kinds of restrictions, if any, are there? Thanks!
I believe that Priceline only has the big 5 companies (Avis, Alamo, Hertz, Dollar, Budget ???- I think that's them!). Anyway, it's not the small ones like Americar, L&M, etc).
