Anyone ever used a "buddy pouch" at the parks?

My friend sent a link for the "buddy pouch" and said I should use them in the parks so I can skip bag check.
Has any one had any experience using them in the parks? I'm a 2 backpack girl....one for the locker and one that I carry in the park. I have feet issues and usually carry extra shoes that go in my locker back pack. But I sure would like to trim my stuff down a little if I could use a couple of these instead of a backpack.

Here is a link to the website she sent me:

I would imagine ANY bag, no matter how big or small, will be checked. This device has the look of a cell phone case (glancing at it) and security WILL ask what it is. I had my wallet in my cargo shorts last year as well as my cell phone under my shirt, on my hip... I was questioned about both.

The only conceivable way to skip bag check is to have no bags. I'm sure some have gotten around it with this, and I'm sure there are others that haven't. Depends on the security out front. But from my experience above, I had gone through bag check and was approached by a DIFFERENT officer about my cell phone and wallet.

seems like a good idea for those that pack light to the parks.

you said you take 2 backpacks one for the locker and one to carry around the parks.
if you have enough to carry around the parks that you are using a backpack then it doesn't seem like it would be a good product for you. (nor does it seem like a good product for me as i usually carry a small backpack and i always carry a disney poncho which would not fit in that tiny thing)
its only 6inx4in.

i do think you could easily get away with not going through back check as long as you have a shirt that easily covers the pouch.

Looks handy, but I don't think that qualifies as "no bag".

My, at the time, 5 year old granddaughter, had an almost clear see through waist pack that was maybe the size of a normal adult's wallet. She had to remove it from her waist and have it looked at. So, you won't be able to not do the bag check but if it helps you with less things, then go for it.

I bought my running buddy for DisneyWorld. It was perfect for holding my 2 auvi-q's, some cash, and my iphone. The magnets are very strong. It didn't fall off once. There were times I had to check to make sure it was still there. I didn't even notice it after awhile and did not have to go through bag check.

Like others have said, you'll probably still have to have it checked. I take my camera in a formed soft case. It's very obviously a camera from looking. Security still makes me open it and pull the camera out so they can check it 90% of the time.

I would think that if your shirt covered it, then they won't stop you at bag check. If your shirt doesn't cover it, then they will stop you.

You normally take 2 backpacks to the park but think 2 of these bitty things will work for you? :faint: I'm not sure they would bypass bag check, either, unless they were under your c!othes and didn't cause a noticeable bulge.

For me, it might replace the wallet in my bag, but that's about it. I need my sunscreen, camera, phone, hand sanitizer, and poncho. Those aren't going to fit in there. If you're anything like me, you might want to try paring down to just one small backpack or crossbody bag before going as minimalist as this. Baby steps.

I have one of these. It's handy if all you're taking is some cash, a credit card or two and your slim cellphone. It doesn't hold any more than that really. I can't imagine that you could condense two backpacks into two of these. I'll upload a couple pictures for reference.

The back part (to the right of the top fold) doesn't hold anything but the magnets. The front consists of two pouches, one of which is net. That's it.

We use them at Cedar point and are able to take on coasters where you aren't allowed anything because they cannot see it under your shirt (obviously wear a loose shirt). It would easily allow you to skip bag check because it is pretty much invisible. It will definitely not help you reduce your two backpacks because as others have said it holds a cell phone a few credit cards and a little cash. My keys don't fit in it. The magnets are very secure and have not messed up my credit cards or cell phone. I was worried about that. It would not pass through the metal detectors at universal FYI. We do love them though.

The run buddy looks too small to be feasible. Myself, depending on how long the day is, I strap a money belt (like a very discreet fanny pack that is very flat, designed to be worn under clothes particularly on travel so that you don't get your purse stolen or pick pocketed with your passport etc) and whiz right on past the bag check. In a money belt, I can store a small battery back up, a sunscreen stick if necessary, a chapstick, a protein bar, cell phone and all wallet credit card/DL stuff. It's enough to last all day and it never once been stopped by bag check. I also use it for Busch Gardens because they make you stow ALL bags for their rides, so you have to be super discreet there. If I am traveling with a group that insists on bags, I just bring a bag. If I'm going solo, I never bring a bag....

I thought it just meant you make your buddy carry your bag and you can just go right through the bag check..

I could never keep all the crap I have to bring in that little thing..lol

I used one and loved it. It was under my shirt and was essentially an extra pocket. HOWEVER, don't expect to carry more than a phone, some cash, ID, and a credit card.

Off subject, but just booked for September at the Polynesian. Have not stayed at this resort before, but only read good things. Anyone spent anytime there recently since the refurb?

you'd get more answers to this type of question if you created a new thread in the disney resort section.
