Okay, I have an AP so I don't usually have to bother with park tickets and we are a family of 7, so every dollar counts.

I have noticed that a 7 day base ticket costs less than 3 days with park hopping - can I just burn an extra day on the base ticket if we want to go to more than 1 park per day or do they not allow you into another park if your ticket has already been used on that date?

It's only abour $20 - 30 dollars different, but when you multiply that times 7, it adds up to some real money...

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance-

No. It doesn't work that way. Disney was way ahead of you on that one.

When you use a non-hopping base ticket at the first park, the Disney computer registers the info (park, time & date, even the turnstile that was used). If you try to use the ticket at another park on the same day, the computer will look for previous info on the ticket, realize that it has already been used at a different park that day and it is not a hopper. The turnstile will not release and the CM manning it will direct you to Guest Services where you can add the hopping option to your ticket if you choose to.

Lisa-

I figured that if I could figure it out, that Disney surely already had... but I didn't want to either 1.) feel silly when they sent me to customer service or 2.) feel like there really was a cheaper way that I might have passed up.

I knew someone here would know... thanks so much for your help! :thumbsup2

we have just regular tickets not hopper but that is not the issue. if we go to a park in the morning and want to leave for a rest at our hotel can we go back to the same park later that night on the same ticket? any answer would be appreciated.
